Monday 2nd

Today we only had 2 walks but the group walk was a BIG walk!

It was a beautiful morning so we decided to head to the Brickworks to check on the fall colour. Following this weekend’s wind there wasn’t much left to see but it’s still really beautiful.

The group included the following dogs: Riley, Sweet pea, Tony, Radar, Tea Cup, Jaida, Bobby, Oscar and Casey. Yes that is a BIG group.

When we were picking up Radar I grabbed a couple great shots of a squirrel playing with a pumpkin, Casey wanted to get out and grab it but I wanted to let him finish his exploring.

When we got to the park it took a couple minutes to get everyone organized since we had a couple newbies who were not used to the group walk processes.

We broke into Boys vs. Girls (of course – it’s the only split that works) and we started out.

The boys were full of energy today! Bobby ended up moving over to the girl pack because he was being a good boy and I had my hands full with the rest of the dudes.

Once we got moving everyone settled down and we were able to finish our walk without too much trouble.

The girls... well the girls (and Bobby) were angles of course! They had a great walk with Henry and behaved the entire time they were out.

When we wrapped up the walk and hit the off leash park it was time to play.

Radar was off like a shot mixing and mingling with some of the bigger dogs in the park. He was running around through the bushes and leaves. I think he was having a good time ;-) He even started to play chase with Jaida, they got along really well.

Riley and Jaida where up to their usual tricks, the two of them started chasing and wrestling the moment they walked into the park. Riley is always the center of attention, he knows how to get the dogs moving which is great for me (less work).

Oscar stuck near Riley and Jaida and joined in their chasing games. The three of them tore around the park barking, bouncing and teasing each other. That group is always entertaining.

Jaida on the other hand made me laugh, the park is beside Bayview and she would chase trucks along the fence line as they drove by, when a motorcycle came along she went crazy and gave it a piece of her mind!

Tony stayed with me on leash for a good part of the outing. I would always drop the leash when we rounded the corner on the way back to the beginning of the park. I’m always nervous that his little nose is going to carry him away – even though the park is pretty secure I don’t want to push my luck.

Tea cup... well what can you say about Tea Cup. Since Jaida was there she took over playing with Riley so Tea Cup could spend more quality time with her man Henry. I let her hang out every other round but made sure that she got enough exercise. It’s hard to tear her away from her man!

Casey did her own thing, running like crazy through the bushes and emerging good and tired on the other side.

Bobby and Sweet Pea stuck with me doing loops of the park. Sweet Pea kept up the entire time and was on every lap. Bobby took a couple breaks hanging out with Henry at the rock then running down the path to say hello when we saw us coming around.

Sweet Pea was like my shadow, when I wasn't sure where she was I'd look behind me and there she was toddling along with a smile on her face. Sweet Sweet Sweet Pea!

We’ve really got this park down to a science. Even if the dogs stray away while we are making the rounds they always end up over at the rock with Henry! It’s one less thing to worry about.

Here are some mixing and mingling shots of the group in action:

When we had everyone packed up I went and picked up the lovely Belle.

We decided to hit Sherwood today for our outing. Since there was so much wind, the leaves have all fallen off the trees so it was a thick carpet of orange, yellow and red leaves with the bare trees. It was beautiful!

Belle was full of energy today so we ended up doing multiple rounds of the park.

Just when we were wrapping up it started to get really dark and spit, we were back in the car before the skies opened up and it started to rain.

At the end of the day Henry took Riley home and Casey and I walked Oscar home in the drizzly rain – good times ;-)

We had fun today and hopefully the rain will hold off tomorrow. Talk to everyone later.

Tuesday 3rd

Today was a BUSY day we had two fantastic group walks, a puppy visit and an outing with Diva!

Walk number 1 included Riley, Sweet Pea, Bobby, Tea Cup, Jaida, Chloe and Casey. We headed to Sherwood to play in the newly fallen leaves.

Once we got to the off leash area everyone was a flutter with activity.

The usual great of Riley, Tea Cup, Jaida and Chloe were running back and forth down the trails and chasing and wrestling with each other in varying combinations. They have really become a pack and it is always wonderful to watch them play and interact they all know how to have a good time.

Chloe had just gotten a hair cut so she was wearing a sweater; well she had a number of “wardrobe malfunctions” so we needed to disrobe her! She was so cute and so funny! There are some pics in the album of her and her sweater issues.

Bobby and Sweet Pea are similar in activity level so they spent a lot of time strolling around together following in my shadow.
Everyone is doing so well with listening and following instruction, it really is fantastic to have such a great group of dogs.

In the afternoon Henry did our first puppy visit with a lovely little Cocka-poo named Sydney. Once they did their business they had some playtime. He’s looking forward to getting to know her better over the coming weeks.

The next group walk was the big kids! We took Seamus, Belle and Pepper down to Cherry Beach to run around and get silly. Riley tagged along as he was staying with us for the day.

We had a great time, the weather was nice and the sun was out for the first half of the outing. All three of the big kids ran around and mixed and mingled with the other dogs in the park. They had a wonderful time sniffing and exploring and chasing each other around.

Seamus found a hat somewhere in the bushes and proceeded to shake and wrestle with it trying to shred it. Belle kept trying to sneak in and steal it but he was not letting go! I’ve got some awesome pics of the action.

Pepper was more interested in fetching! She made her request known by her constant barking and begging for us to pick up that stick and toss it already.

Everyone got into the action and all three of them when running into the lake to bring back sticks.

The following album includes pics from both outings today:

After everyone was good and soaked we dropped everyone off and headed home to pick up Diva for our evening stroll. She was a little tired so we only did a short jaunt then headed home.

What a fun day, talk to everyone tomorrow.

Wednesday 4th

Today was EVEN BUSIER they yesterday. What a crazy week.

We had 3 walks, puppy sitting with Sydney, a stroll with Diva, and a “business trip” with the kids.

We were going to do two separate walks but since we had 2 vehicles today we decided to do the walks at the same time.

The first group included Sweet pea, Chloe, Tony, Molly and a couple new doggies to the pack Jessy and Abby. The second group included Riley, Prince, Casey, Bobby and Gizmo.

Abby is a very very VERY busy little girl! She hit it off with a big dog in the park and the two of them ran and wrestled and ran some more. I was glad to see her using up some of her energy. Abby was one of the first in the group to jump head first into the giant mud puddle at the front of the park... oh joy muddy doggie!!!!

Molly mixed and mingled with some of the other dog walkers and dogs in the park. She is such a sweet heart, very social and very friendly. She also got good and dirty digging holes and checking out the mud puddle. Oh yes she was a mess too!

Tony ran in circles around the group barking and keeping everyone together. Molly kept trying to play with him but he wasn’t taking the bait.

I thought that Sweet Pea and Jessy would hit it off but Jessy was a little overwhelmed by the group. She stuck near me and we made sure that we did lots of walking and got enough exercise while we were out. Next week I’m hoping Jessy is more comfortable and will mix and mingle.

Sweet Pea was her sweet self. She really likes Chloe and enjoys barking at her trying to get her to play. Doesn’t work usually Chloe just runs away.... but at least she tried ;-)

Chloe also decided to explore the mud puddle. Instead of going into the mud puddle she played around the outside enjoying the show. Unfortunately she got swatted as the big dogs ran by so she was sporting a couple big muddy paw prints on her side.

Once we were settled the next group arrived to join into the fun.

Riley... well he ran straight into the mud puddle of course! Then he chased and wrestled with his new friend Gizmo.

Gizmo also accompanied Riley into the mud puddle and continued to get dirtier and dirtier as he ran, dug and pounced. Mess mess messy doggie!

Prince tried his best to keep his tail out of Riley’s mouth! Riley of course is a tail biter. He also did some running and wrestling but mostly worked the group keeping everyone in line.

Bobby was great, he made a friend!!!! They wrestled and played with each other for a good portion of the outing. It was great to see him having a good time. The rest of the time he stuck in my shadow as were strolled around the park.

We had a great time but a busy time today!

While I was dropping off dogs Henry went to visit little Sydney for their puppy session. She was happy to see him and they had some good bonding time.

Later in the afternoon I met up with Bogart then Diva for a stroll around the neighbourhood. It was kind of drizzly at that point but it was a nice way to wind down the day. While I was out with Bogie and Diva Henry went down to visit with the kids and take them out for a bathroom break.

Ahhh what a day! Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Thursday 5th

Today Animal Adventures made a huge jump towards building our business! We purchased a minivan!!!! I’m so excited it is going to be so much more comfortable for the dogs and for us plus now we can do more multi tasking. We won’t pick up the van until Friday so today is our last group walk with the car alone.

We have 3 walks today plus the puppy visit with Sydney so it’s a busy one.

The group walk included Riley, Sweet pea, Bobby, Abby, Jaida, Oscar, Chloe, Seamus and Casey. Since we had a big group and the weather wasn’t ideal we headed to Sunnybrook.

We just stayed in the park today and did circles rather than heading down the trails, since we’ve had so much damp weather we didn’t need 9 muddy puppies!

We ran into a friend of our Milly who is super cute and super fun so she mixed and mingled with the dogs in our pack. Soon she will be joining us our group for some fun and excitement! We’re looking forward to it! I’m sure she will melt into the “Riley, Oscar, Jaida, Tea Cup, Chloe” circle of crazy!

Riley, Oscar and Jaida chased each other around and played with other dogs in the park. They also did a fair share of wrestling; they are cut from the same cloth those guys.

We didn’t bring any balls into the park as we had a big group and we didn’t want Bobby to get too territorial. Instead he strolled around with us and did some playing with other dogs in the park.

Sweet pea toddled along enjoying the outdoors and watching everyone play.

Abby was full of energy, we decided to drop the leash and she was great, she stayed with the group and had fun playing with the other dogs as well as chasing everyone around.

Chloe had fun bouncing around from dog to dog and then looping back to walk with me.

Seamus bounded around the park stretching his legs and herding the little dogs. I kept telling him to go and mingle with the other big dogs in the park but he was happy to stick with the pack.

When we wrapped up our walk, Henry went to visit Sydney while I did drop offs.

At the end of the day I had two walks with Bogart and Diva. We picked up Bogie first then strolled over to meet Diva. The three of us strolled around and visited the neighbourhood dogs then when it was time for Diva to go home Bogie and I took a more of a walk before heading home.

It’s been a long day and we’re excited to pick up the car tomorrow! Talk to everyone later.

Friday 6th

Today is the big day!!!

We started out the day picking up our new wheels – name yet to be decided! Then we split up and started our pickups for the group walk. We only have the group walk and puppy visit with Sydney then Henry is babysitting Diva so it’s a pretty low key day.

Once we had everyone packed up we met at Cherry Beach for some exercise on a sunny fall afternoon.

The group walk included Riley, Sweet Pea, Tony, Bobby, Chloe, Pepper, Belle and Casey.

It was a perfect day! The dogs all had a blast running around and sniffing everything.

After we did our first lap, Bobby and Pepper stayed with Henry at the water playing fetch while the rest of the group did laps with me.

I was doing head count at one point and one dog was MIA, we realized that Sweet Pea disappeared into the bushes, after calling her name for a minute she came running around the corner with her little legs a flying and a huge smile on her face! She is so adorable!!!!

Belle stayed with me but kept running over to check on the ones by the lake to make sure they were still present and accounted for. She is very good at keeping track of everyone.

Tony stayed on leash for the first half of the walk then we did a test drop and he was fine! He ran around playing with Riley and came back when called. I was happy that he didn’t follow his nose anywhere.

Riley and Chloe did some wrestling and playing; they would explore and run into the bushes then come running back to me and jump on each other. Chloe likes to keep everyone in check.

Once we were wrapped up Henry took the car and headed over to visit with Sydney while I packed everyone in the van and we headed home.

It was wonderful!!! Everyone was comfortable and happy with the extra space; I can’t wait for next week!

Henry ended up the day having a very peacefully evening / slumber party with Miss Diva.

Have a great night and we’ll talk to everyone this weekend.

Weekend 7th, 8th

This weekend isn’t overly busy so we are getting the car and the van cleaned up and prepped for next week and taking a much needed break.

Saturday started out with a cat visit with two super super cute kitties Petunia and George! They are so sweet but both a little shy. We ended up hanging out in the bathroom and chatting since that is where they were happy so I went with the flow. George was up on my lap getting some pets while Petunia was on the floor rubbing against my leg. What sweet babies.

In the afternoon Belle, Casey and I headed to Sherwood for our outing. It was so busy there today! It was a really nice day so we wanted to take advantage of it.

Belle mixed and mingled with the many dogs in the park and Casey followed along on leash so that she didn’t run too much and get too tired.

The only other visit we have today is a bedtime pee break with Tea Cup.

Sunday was a fairly low key day and the weather was fantastic!

I had my last visit with Petunia and George then headed over to visit with Diva as she was not feeling very well. I checked in on her a couple times throughout the day. Luckily she was starting to feel better and ended up having a good stroll in the sunshine.

We also had a last minute visit with Bobby so we headed down to the beach to play in the sun.

We ended the day with a bedtime pee break wih Tea Cup.

Another busy week! We'll talk to you next week.
