Monday 28th

Today was a busy day! We have 3 walks and a bird sitting appointment.

I started out the day visiting my little friend Pumpkin the Quaker Parrot. She remembered me and I think she was happy to see me.
Once I had fed and watered her we had some play time... chase the sock, step up’s, sing along, dancing. I was so happy she didn’t bite me once! That’s huge for us.

Once I said my goodbyes I went home to get ready for the group walk. Today we had Tea Cup, Jaida, Casey and Riley on our walk. It was a drizzly cold nasty morning and I was hoping that the day would clear up before the kids and I hit the park.

We decided to go to Winston Churchill park in hopes that there would not be too much mud. Lucky for us by the time we got to the park the rain had passed and the sun was actually out. The only thing we had to contend with was the wind! Not strong enough to blow away a dog but it made for an interesting hair day.

Jaida and Riley were their usual selves. They chased each other around and around and around again. Then when they were done chasing they wrestled for another good part of the session. They would mix and mingle with the other dogs and let them join in on their games so everyone had a good workout.

Jaida mixed and mingled with the other dog walkers as she does, she is such a flirt.

Riley decided to follow some of the big dogs into the one giant puddle at the one end of the park. He jumped around like a bucking bronco in the mud and it was the funniest thing to watch. What a little bugger.

Tea Cup was so brave! I didn’t put her on leash at all during the session and she made her way between me and Henry actually playing tag with other dogs along the way. Mind you the dogs were chasing her but she let them do it which is a huge thing for her. She had a great time and was her usual cute self.

Once we were wrapped up and everyone was home safe and sound Henry picked up Belle and they headed to Sunnybrook for an afternoon play session. It was quiet at the park but Belle found lots of dogs to say hello to and run around with. After walking and running around the park a bunch of times they headed back home.

Last visit of the day was with Jaida again and the lovely Diva. Casey tagged along as well and we had a great walk. We strolled around the park, the school, the park again and sniffed and visited with all the doggies along the way.

Diva had a good time with Casey and Jaida, they make her feel young ;-) we had a fantastic walk until it started to rain on us so we wrapped it up and called it a day.

Hopefully the weather will be less crazy tomorrow.

Tuesday 29th

Today was another busy day. We had a pick up / drop off and 3 walks.

First I picked up the lovely KitCat (the kids kitty cat) to go to her grooming appointment then headed home to prepare for the group walk.

We had a fun walk today, we are happy to welcome a new dog to the Animal Adventures family a hound dog named Seamus. He is a sweet heart and we super happy to be tagging along. Along with Seamus we had Jaida, Riley, Pepper and Casey.

Everyone got along well and I was happy that we had a good first outing.

As we were making the rounds, the sky opened up and it started pouring rain. At the same time the phone rang and KitCat was done at the salon. We decided to switch up the pickup order and go get the kitty cat to take her home and settled in hopes that the rain would stop.

Well... Seamus has challenges with the car in that he has this very funny high pitched cry that he makes and he proceeded to cry the entire time in the car. Since we decided to go get the cat he was in the car for an EXTENDED amount of time which I kept promising him that it’s not always like this.

Once we had a car full of dogs we stopped and picked up the cat. Everyone was great no one got fussy with the kitty cat and away we went.

The best part of this was the rain had stopped and the sun was coming out again. Thank GOD.

We decided that since we had been on the road for so long and were mid town we would go to Winston Churchill again rather then head up north to Sunnybrook which was the plan.

I’m glad we stayed mid town. We had a great time at the park.

Seamus was very excited to be there, we played fetch with a Frisbee and he had a great time chasing it down and eating it up. He spent a lot of time getting to know the other dogs in the group and decided that he liked Riley. I can’t explain it, so many dogs love Riley! He is a magnet and it makes no sense to me – boys, girls, always the quiet ones they gravitate to him.

Pepper was having a great time playing fetch with our new flinger. She was totally pooped by the end of the session she was going nonstop! She is the funniest doggie, she would drop the ball in front of you then start barking “pick up the ball already, come on what are you new, throw the ball”. She had some words with dogs who got too close to the ball but she behaved herself.

Riley and Jaida... chase, wrestle etc.

Jaida spent a lot of time playing fetch with a knot that she loves! When she catches it we play tug-o-war until she gives up and lets me win. At one point I actually got her and a great Pyrenees puppy to play tug-o-war for about 30 seconds until she dropped her side. My stupid camera was stuck in my pocket so I didn’t get a picture it was so funny to watch! David vs. Goliath.

Riley spent a lot more time with Casey today wrestling and playing with her to give Jaida a mini break. He also made friends with a bunch of the other dogs in the park and ran in circles with them to give the girls a break.

When everyone was good and tired we dropped everyone off and made our way home.

The next walk of the day was with my chubby little friend Bobby. It was back to being cold, windy and nasty outside. Someone said it perfectly; it was like being at Niagara Falls with the mist blowing in your face!

Once we worked our way around the block to the school we played fetch for a while before heading home.

The last walk of the day was with the lovely and talented Diva, I’m taking her out for her bedtime pee break then we’re done for the day.

Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Wednesday 30th

Today was a BUSY day! We had 3 walks on the books then a last minute 4th walk was added to round out the day.

For our first walk of the day we had Tea Cup, Riley and Casey. Since we were downtown picking up Riley we decided to stretch our legs at Harbord park. It’s a nice wide open field for the kids to run around and chase each other.

Riley made friends with a beagle named Lou Lou, the two of them took turns chasing each other in giant circles, Lou Lou’s boyfriend a 6 month old Rottweiler would join in when Riley took a break (he’s a big boy you don’t want to get in his way).

Tea Cup was more reserved, she stayed on the side lines watching them play and running around by herself.

We did a lot of walking around the park. Riley and T would go off in running spurts chasing each other around. Every so often another dog would come into the park and everyone would head over and say hello (even Tea Cup).

It was a nice day; the weather wasn’t too cold and windy which was a nice break from the last few days.

When we packed up the kids we worked our way home. Riley was staying with us for the afternoon so we dropped off Tea cup and headed home for a quick nap before heading out again.

Our next walk included Belle, Gizmo, Riley and Casey. We headed to Sunnybrook so Gizmo could get familiar with the group as this was his first group outing rather than a solo walk.

When we got there it was nice and quiet so Gizmo worked his way around the park checking everything out while Belle teased Riley and Casey as they ran around.

We played a few rounds of fetch until more dogs started to come into the park. At that point Belle and Gizmo started to mingle with the other dogs and do some chasing and racing.

Gizmo had a blast, he did lots of running and wrestling and had a great time.

Belle was being silly today so she spent a portion of the trip on leash arrest so that we could spend some quality time together ;-)

At one point, Riley was tired (since it was his second outing) Casey was also pooped so I had Riley in one arm, Casey in the other and Belle on leash... boy that was a work out! Gizmo didn’t care he was bounding around having a great time which was great that I didn’t have to worry about him.

While we were at Sunnybrook, Henry was strolling around the block with the lovely and talented Diva. She was also a little pooped today so they stayed close to home and wandered around the park and the yard rather than doing a big walk.

Lastly today I got a couple calls to take out Bogart and Bobby for a last minute walk for the day. Since I had to take Riley home we decided to take the guys to the Riverdale Park at the foot of Carlton.

Casey went home for a nap, I dropped off Riley so that he could have a nap then double B and I headed to the park.

It was busy with the after work crowd and it was all new dogs for us. The park has a HUGE hill right when you walk in. I let Bobby off leash and tossed a ball down the hill. He tore off down the hill after the ball then proceeded to run back up the hill to where we were. Hard core Bobby!!

Half way down I let Bogart off leash so that he could go explore.

We headed for the pack of dogs in the middle of the park to mix and mingle.

Bogart made friends immediately with his super cute hair cut (reminder he has a full body Mohawk) He found a couple dogs to chase and they proceeded to run in giant circles around and through the group trying to catch each other.

Bobby and I were playing fetch when he would give up the ball ;-)

At a certain point little Bogart started to get the wandering eye and started straying away from the group to explore. Unfortunately with the layout of this park it’s dangerous to risk him taking off because there is no way I can catch him if he takes off up the hill!

I hooked him up to the leash and we walked around the park while we played fetch with Bobby. It’s a really large park, so we got a great work out making the rounds and exploring all the nooks and crannies.
From time to time I would let Bogart off to do some sprinting and mingling when there were dogs around.

It was REALLY chilly this evening and once we had made the rounds we decided to wrap it up for the evening. After being towed up the hill by me two trusty steeds, the kids crashed and slept the whole way home.

It was a very long but great day, I’ll talk to everyone tomorrow.

Thursday 1st

Today we had 3 walks.

Our first walk included Riley, Jaida, Seamus, Oscar and Casey. We decided to head to Sherwood Park for some fun and off-roading in the woods.

This was our second outing with Seamus. Since it was a quick car ride he didn’t have the chance to get really upset and cry in the car ;-)

When we arrived at the park we decided to pair Riley with Seamus and then the other 3 together. Between Riley and Oscar they like to push everyone’s buttons when you’re walking so they needed to be separated in order to maintain calm and order.

When we got to the off leash area the kids started to run around and play.

Oscar and Riley were off wrestling and running around like crazy people.

Jaida was lucky and got a break from the boys since the terrible 2 were together she could play and explore on her own without being harassed.

Seamus was hilarious! He would start out being all calm and quiet exploring the trails and sniffing everything then he would have sporadic spurts of high powered craziness. We ran into another big dog so they spent a lot of time together running around and every so often he would run through making this funny growling sound and going fast as lightning.

By the second half of the park Oscar was doing his frog pose taking a break from the fun. He’s so silly he’ll be running along and then just drop onto his belly with his back legs stretched out and a goofy smile on his face.

Once we got everyone back on leash and back in the car we were ready to get everyone home and prepare for our next walk.

That afternoon we had Riley and Oscar at our place until it was time to go home.

For our second walk we picked up Gizmo and headed to the Belt Line with Riley and Oscar. It was cool and windy but we made the best of it. After a nice stroll down the path and watching some trains rumble under the bridge at Yonge Street we ended up at Oriole Park to play.

Riley and Oscar continued with their day long wrestling match and continued to run around the park and chase each other in circles.
Gizmo played fetch and joined in the chase from time to time.

At one point all three of them found a tiny puddle just big enough for one dog to stand it very comfortably and they all too turns bouncing around getting messy. Oh dogs and dirty puddles what is the draw I’ll never understand!

After Gizmo ran around a bunch more times fetching balls and chasing Riley and Oscar we worked our way back down the path to the car.

The last walk of the day was with Diva, Henry played bus driver and took everyone home while I started out with the old gal.
It was really cold but luckily not raining. Diva was in fine spirits and we toddled around the block enjoying the fresh air then visiting with the local dogs at our dog park.

It was a good day but a cold day! Must bundle up for tomorrow, it’s going to be another chilly one. Talk to you tomorrow.

Friday 2nd

Today we had 3 walks

The first walk included Riley, Tea Cup, Pepper and Casey.

We decided that since we were downtown picking up Pepper and Riley that we would head to the Brickworks for our session. The weather was very dark and dreary so we made the best of it.

While we were on our walk of the park it was raining and chilly. The dogs were in good spirits, everyone was walking, no one was dragging behind or fighting against being on the walk. I was glad because it was too miserable to be carrying or pulling along a doggie ;-)

Once we hit the off leash park we made the best of it. It was quiet when we got there but picked up shortly after. I was laughing at this poor poor doggie wearing a little pink coat standing by the gate crying as the rest of her pack headed out around the park. Oh she was a poor pathetic sole. I wanted to go over and scoop her up and hold her under my umbrella.

My crew was good, we all made the rounds together each of them branching off to explore as we went along. Tea Cup and Riley ended up hanging out with Henry as Casey, Pepper and I did a couple more rounds.

Just before we left Casey saw a squirrel stupid enough to cross through the off leash park so she was on the hunt with Pepper. She was so dirty and muddy it was disgusting!

Everyone was cold and wet and ready to head home!
Riley hung out with us for the rest of the day and we all did our best to warm up before heading out again.

Henry did the next walk which was with Belle, they decided to go to Sherwood Park and do the loop because it was still fully raining and we weren’t sure how Belle likes the rain. He said she was great, walked at his pace and enjoyed their outing.

Lastly today, Henry went and hung out with Diva while I went and collected Gizmo.

Henry and Diva walked around the building lawn, Diva did not like the weather today and didn’t want to go on a big walk.
Gizmo and I headed to Sherwood in hopes that the off leash area would not be too terrible. When we got there he wasn’t too sure that he wanted to be there but we decided to give it a go.

It was so quiet today! Nothing like the rain to scare everyone away ;-)

When we hit the off leash area I decided to keep him on leash for fear that he was going to circle back and run to the car. We did the tour of the park and it wasn’t so bad. It was kind of nice being in there with the rain falling through the trees. It wasn’t very windy which was great.

We didn’t do the full hour because he was ready to go home and so was I. We made our way to the car and headed home.

Well as one of the other dog walkers said today “You’ll remember how nice rain is when you’re walking through 2 ft of snow” Ok I guess I see her point ;-)

I’m going to crawl into bed and try and warm up. Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Weekend 3rd, 4th

Saturday was a busy day we had 3 walks.

The first walk was a big one; we had Gizmo, Tea Cup, Missy, Sushi, Biggie and Casey. We decided to try and hit the beach before / after the rain came through.

It was a nice day down there, we were lucky the rain missed us!

Gizmo had a blast running around meeting all the dogs that came through. He did a bunch of fetching and hung out with Tea Cup.

Tea Cup hung out with Henry and went where ever he went. Every so often Gizmo would get her to run and they would tear around in big circles.

Missy was exploring on her own most of the time. She kept wandering off and trying to head back up the stairs to explore the street so she had to go on leash arrest and hang out with us down on the beach. She is so funny, the happy wanderer.

Sushi was being a little princess as only she can be. She didn’t want to get her feet dirty ;-) she hung out at the entrance to the beach for a while then ran over and sat on the folded umbrella’s and watched the going’s on. We got her out and moving enough so that she got her exercise but she was really cute.

Mr Big was his usual charming self and met lots of people passing by. When he wasn’t hanging out with me he was hanging with Sushi on the Umbrella’s. He is so funny whenever he would go back to her he would automatically lift his leg and “mark” her. What a little bugger ;-)

I took some pics of the kids in action:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/ABeautifulFallDayAtTheBeach?authkey=Gv1sRgCIaA7or20-D5dg&feat=directlink

Once we got everyone packed up and dropped off we headed home to get going on our next walks.

We decided to divide and conquer. Henry walked the lovely and talented Diva and I walked my girl Belle.

Henry and Diva hung out around the building. She didn’t feel like walking today so they only had a short outing. The weather was so grey and yucky I don’t blame her for wanting to get back home to bed.

Belle and I headed for the Belt Line. We started at Mt. Pleasant and worked our way to Oriole Park then back. It is a nice walk plus we got to watch some trains along the way. Belle was not sure about those trains, she was very concerned when they came rolling through. We got spit on a bit but overall it was dry so we were lucky the whole day.

Sunday we only had one walk with the lovely Diva. Henry, Casey and I walked with her and we headed to Pet Cuisine to get some treats then visited our friends at the park before taking Diva home.

It was a good week, a LONG week, a wet week and a cold week! Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Monday 21st

We have 3 walks today.

Our first walk included Jaida, Tea Cup, Oscar, Riley and Casey. With this fun group we headed to Sherwood Park to let them get down and dirty!

We broke the group up into Boys v.s. Girls as that is the only possible way to walk. Just like any public school playground... the boys are always picking on the girls and we can’t get anywhere ;-)

It was a perfect day at Sherwood, still really warm even though Fall is rapidly approaching. It looked like rain but we got lucky and nothing came while we were out.

The kids had a great time in the woods! Casey was on leash arrest since she has been a total pain in the bum the last few times we’ve been there. I didn’t need her getting covered in burrs and coming back exhausted and dirty when she could be spending time with the rest of the pack.

Tea Cup was on fire! She was running around and both Riley and Oscar were chasing her around the paths. The three of them hardly stopped.

Jaida got a break from Riley’s constant nagging and enjoyed sniffing along as she went. She also joined into the fun from time to time but realized she was having more fun as an observer.

Oscar had a great time but was soooo tired by the time we got to the last part of the trails. He kept flopping down into his frog position with a big smile on his face. I ended up picking him up and carrying him for the last little bit so he didn’t get too exhausted.

Riley, well Riley was his usual bundle of energy! That kid can go for miles and hours and still have energy to spare. He loves his new friends and is always a source of comedy. He is definitely the instigator and Tea Cup had a great time trying to keep her tail out of the jaws of death (Riley’s mouth).

When we were done the kids were all good and warn out. We dropped off Jaida and Tea Cup then Oscar and Riley came back home with us to spend the day.

My apartment was the stage for WrestleMaina 2009! Oscar and Riley proceeded to wrestle for hours until they finally fell asleep. Casey was glad for the break so she could take a nap without being harassed.

Next Oscar, Casey and I headed out to walk Diva while Riley and Henry waited to take Riley home.

It was starting to spit at this point but we still puttered around, headed to Pet Cuisine then worked our way back to Diva’s house. When we were done I was going to walk Oscar home but him and Casey needed a break so Henry picked them up and dropped off Oscar on the way to take Riley home.

My last walk of the day was with Bogart. Unfortunately it was pretty much raining at this point and Bogie is not unlike the wicked witch of the west who melts when he gets wet so he did NOT want to go outside... let alone got for a walk.

We ended up doing a 15 min pee break rather than a full walk which he was VERY happy about. I was happy too since it was soggy and cold at that point.

Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Tuesday 22nd

Wow what a busy day today! And a super super SUPER humid day! Yes today is the first day of Fall so it was 30+ with the humidity ;-)

We started out by picking up one of the cats at the kids house to take to the groomers. Casper needed her lion hair cut.

Once we dropped her off and then we picked up Riley for another day of daycare. His family is moving so we have been doing a lot of hard core bonding with him so they can focus on packing, moving and un-packing.

Today we have3 walks

The first walk was a fun and exciting walk! We had our old friend Pepper who is now going to be a regular pack member, Belle, Jaida, Riley and Casey. We headed down to the Brickworks to get a walk and some fun in the off leash park.

We decided to split up Riley from the little girls (again) so I took Belle and Riley and Henry had everyone else. We started walking along but Belle was not being a very helpful walker. She was so excited to be with the group and to have Pepper there plus to be at the Brickworks that she was in excitement overload.

After a short time I realized that this was not going to work so Riley went to join the others while Belle and I headed for the off leash area to get our exercise.

Henry had a great walk with the rest of the group; they all walked really well together and had fun catching bugs and checking everything out.

Belle and I did a number of loops of the off leash park while she checked things out and got comfortable, it was her first time in this part of the park. When the rest of the group arrived they joined in and we made our way around the paths visiting with everyone as they came by.

Jaida was gone, as usual, visiting with other packs and doing her own thing. We didn’t see her until we were getting ready to go and had to go on the hunt to find which pack she had inserted herself into.
Belle stuck by me only venturing off following Casey and Riley a few times, she wasn’t sure if she wanted to go where they were going.

Pepper walked along visiting with the other dogs and dog walkers, she had a great time checking everything out and keeping her eye on the other pack members. She was very pooped so she ended up heading back to the car with Henry while we completed our last lap.

Riley and Casey went off roading through the sticks and the mud and the dirt... that is what they do. They always have a great time at this park. He did lots of visiting as we went along and was his usual social butterfly self.

We started dropping everyone off and also picked up the newly naked Casper to drop her off... then we had a bit of a break.

Riley and Casey took a nap while we were waiting for the next set of outings.

After dropping Riley off for the day we headed back and picked up Bobby and our friend Prince for a dinnertime outing. We headed to Sunnybrook to do some fetching and running around.

I can NOT find my ball flinger so I had to play sloppy ball toss which is oh so gross! The problem is there were a few other dogs in the park and they kept stealing our ball ;-(

Prince was the king of tug-o-war! I held the knot and he dragged along behind snorting like a piggy. Man he is heavy! We did this for a while before he got too tired.... also the other dogs kept swiping out knot as well.... little buggers.

We decided to go for a stroll down the paths behind the park. Prince and Casey jumped right into the creek as it was so super humid and the cool water felt wonderful. Even Bobby wadded into the water at one point and we ended up playing there for half of our outing.

We packed everyone up and dropped everyone off then Casey I had one more visit with Diva for her bedtime pee break.

It was a good day, it was a super humid day, it was a long day! Talk to you tomorrow.

Wednesday 23rd

Today we had 2 walks.

The first walk included Tea Cup, Riley and Casey. Since we were picking up Riley from his new house, we stayed downtown and went the Harbord park.

It’s a nice wide open park for running and chasing. As soon as we got there Tea Cup and Riley were off running and chasing each other. Casey went off by herself exploring. T and Riley ran in giant circles and made themselves good and dizzy.

We worked our way down to the far end of the park where the dogs generally hang out, the dogs that were there were too big and were playing with each other. Instead we walked around the park by ourselves and were soon joined by a couple puppies and some smaller dogs that we could visit and play with.

Tea Cup was brave, she steered away from the bigger dogs and finally said hello to a couple smaller quiet dogs before we left.
Riley tried to play with some of the dogs but spent most of his time with Tea Cup and Riley.

It was a great afternoon; the kids covered a lot of ground.

Riley stayed with us for the afternoon again today so we had a great nap then set off on our next walk.

Henry and I picked up Diva and Jaida and the group of us walked around the neighbourhood. We had a good time, we stopped at Pet Cuisine (of course) then worked our way around the block sniffing and playing along the way.

It had started out raining when we began walking then turned into a lovely evening.

Once we dropped off Diva, Henry took Riley home and Jaida, Casey and I hung out at the park with our friends.

It was a nice relaxing day with crazy yo-yo weather! Gotta love fall ;-)

Talk to you tomorrow.

Thursday 24th

We had 3 walks today.

Our first walk of the day was a BIG one! It included Jaida, Riley, Oscar, Prince, Missy, Biggie, Sushi and Casey! We had a blast!

We decided to check out Riverdale Park at the foot of Carlton Street @ the DVP. I was pleasantly surprised. When you drive by on Bayview it just looks like a big open field with a giant hill but that was part of its appeal.

When we got there the bigger kids went with Henry and I had the 3 little ones in the stroller. We set out down the giant hill to get busy.

Half way down we unleashed the hounds! Riley and Oscar were running around like crazy people chasing each other and wrestling. Jaida and Casey were exploring, Missy stayed in the stroller until we got to the bottom of the hill and Sushi and Biggie doddled along behind me as we worked our way down.

Once we got to the bottom everyone was running in giant circles, chasing each other... well except Jaida who had gone over to visit another group of dogs of course.

Missy was wandering around checking everything out and even started working her way back up the hill before she decided to come back.

Sushi was tearing up the lawn running from dog to dog bouncing around having a great time.

Biggie stuck with me most of the day but did his fair share of wandering. It was such a big field and he is such a small doggie he had lots of ground to cover.

Riley and Oscar were still running and wrestling, actually I don’t think they hardly stopped the entire time we were there; they are like 2 peas in a pod those two.

Prince was also off running around checking things out he was more reserved. He still mixed it up with the other boys Riley and Oscar from time to time but he was smart and played referee more than participant.

Jaida came and went; she is always being pestered by Riley and Oscar so she stayed away from them while they were running around. Sometime they would charge at her and steamroll her then she would join in the chase but then sneak off to go exploring and visit with new dogs.

When it was time to go we started up the giant hill back to the car. Casey got a ride in the stroller with Missy, Biggie and Sushi as she was pooped and needed to conserver her energy.

We only had to drop off the kids and Jaida because Prince, Riley and Oscar were coming to our house for the afternoon. My apartment was on fire with balls of wrestling fur!

Casey was smart and took a nap behind me where the boys didn’t see her. Prince just watched as Riley and Oscar continued to wrestle... Those two have so much energy it is bizarre.

Next we had our afternoon walk which included the apartment dwellers as well as Bogart and Bobby.

We headed to Sunnybrook (our usual afternoon destination) and let the kids loose.

First we went back to the creek behind the off leash park so the kids could play in the water. Riley, Oscar, Prince and Casey jumped right in and were swimming around. Bogart wasn’t too sure about getting in right away he was having more fun running around on the shore line.

Bobby just toddled along behind with a ball in his mouth that he picked up along the way happy just waiting for someone to throw it.

Once Bogart got into the water Riley, Oscar and him were CRAZY the three of them ran in giant circles through the water, up the hill, down the path, back through the water... and around and around and around they went. I have no idea how Riley and Oscar have the strength to keep going seeing as they have been playing for about 5 hours at this point. Bogart was just getting started so he was wound up like a top.

At one point we had to send a couple passing kids to retrieve Bogart from the top of a really big hill that he had decided he wanted to sprint up at full speed. Thank goodness the kids also had lots of energy to catch up and snag him before he headed to Mexico ;-)

We decided that was just about it for the creek and headed back to the park. Riley was on leash arrest for his little outdoor adventure so he stuck with me.

Bobby ended up finding a nice old man who tossed his ball for him so he was in heaven.

Riley and Oscar.... ran and wrestled while Prince looked on.

I hope that Riley and Oscar slept well last night ;-)

Lastly Henry took Diva out for her good night pee break with Casey in toe while I stayed home and had a break.

What a fun and busy day. Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Here is an assortment of pictures from our day including both the afternoon and evening walks:

Friday 25th

Today we had 3 walks.

The first walk included Tea Cup, Jaida, Riley, Pepper and Casey.

We decided to walk the group on the Belt Line today for a change of scenery. The group took a few minutes to get organized and into “walking mode”. It was a nice day on the Belt Line and it was great to experience it with the full group rather than just Belle.

Everyone had a great time sniffing as we went along and visiting with the other dogs that we met along the way.

Once we got to Oriole Park there were a few other dogs there for us to play with.

Jaida started to visit with the new dogs and play chase and wrestle with Riley.

Riley had a great time mingling with the new dogs when we wasn’t chasing Jaida and generally bouncing around being silly.

Tea Cup spent her time running around chasing the other dogs that were running around plus she kept going over to this poor person trying to eat their lunch and saying “hello” every 5 minutes. She was really funny.

Pepper has a hidden talent for Frisbee catching!! We broke in the new Frisbee playing fetch with her and she had a fantastic time. She was good and pooped by the time we got ready to go.

What a great afternoon.

Next we picked up Belle, she is having a weekend slumber party with Casey!

We took it easy for the rest of the afternoon until we had to walk Bobby.

Belle, Bobby, Casey and I headed for Sunnybrook to play. I was COLD by this time of the day! Stupid fall with its crazy weather variances. The park was busy since it was the dinner hour.

We ended up sticking to ourselves instead of mingling. Bobby wanted to play ball and we kept getting out ball stolen so we decided to keep away from the main group. Bobby was a fetching machine! He is so cute when he’s running after a ball... his little belly wobbling along.

Belle spent most of her time running around checking out some of the other dogs and teasing Casey and Bobby.

Once we were good and chilly we packed up and headed home.

Our last walk of the day was to take the lovely Diva out for her good night pee break.

It was a good day and we’re going to have a fun weekend with Belle!

Weekend 26th, 27th

On Saturday we were going to do a road trip to my parent’s farm but decided that we were going to stay in the city instead.

Belle and I picked up Oscar and we headed to High Park. Casey stayed home to relax for the day as she has been too busy lately and needed a break.

When we got to the off leash area we strolled through the various trails running and bouncing around... well the kids were running and bouncing around I was walking. After the first loop we stopped for water on dog hill and mingled a bit with the dogs that were there. It was rush hour so the park was packed!

After a little break we made another trip around the park taking some different paths then the first time. Belle and Oscar were getting into their groove and were being so well behaved! I was glad because there were a few squirrels around and was afraid that I may lose Oscar to the woods if he got it into his head that he was going to catch one.

Once we ended our second lap we grabbed another drink of water then headed to the High Park Zoo!! Since we didn’t go to the farm we could have the next best thing!

Belle was mildly amused by the animals, she really didn’t know what she was looking at and if she should be interested.
Oscar on the other hand was very interested and inspected each animal he saw!

The great thing was that it was cool out so all of the animals were out. The last time I was there (ages ago) a few of the animals were not around so it was great to see the ones that were MIA last time.

I got some great pictures of our adventure:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/HighParkIsBetterThenTheFarm?feat=directlink

On Sunday we had Belle, Bobby and Casey with us for the afternoon, we headed to Sunnybrook for a super fun afternoon of running, wrestling and swimming!

It was busy at the park because it was a nice sunny afternoon so everyone was out taking advantage of the last bit of sun.
After we played fetch and ran around in the park we made our way back to the creek with Belle’s new friend Mocha.

The dogs had a fantastic time! Mocha and Belle spent a majority of the time running around the creek side, hill side, back through the creek etc. They were even wrestling a bit which was so fun to watch!

Bobby did lots of swimming jumping into the water to get his ball. He was a little fish jumping in and out of the water.

Casey was doing her own thing; she did some swimming and digging bug stayed away from the big dogs that were running.

I love watching Belle play! It’s nice that she found someone who is her play match and keep up with her body weight slamming against you at full speed... I know I can’t ;-) I took a bunch of pictures of the gang in action:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/FetchAndNewFriendsAtSunnybrook?feat=directlink

The three dogs hung out for the afternoon then we headed to Eglinton Park at dinner time for the kids to get their last blast of exercise for the day.

We haven’t been at Eglinton park in ages and we saw some of our old friends. Casey had a great time wrestling, Bobby was playing fetch and Belle was just keeping an eye on everyone making sure everyone was on their best behaviour.

It was a great weekend, a long weekend but a great one.

Monday 14 th

Today ended up being a quiet day.

We had 1 walk which included Riley, Jaida, Casey and a new dog to our pack Oscar (Casey’s boyfriend).

We went to Sunnybrook to let the kids run around and get to know each other. Oscar and Riley are very much alike. They hit it off immediately!

The two of them ran in giant circles chasing each other and Jaida would jump in from time to time. Casey was hanging out watching them playing enjoying the fact that they were both leaving her alone.

We mingled with the other dogs in the park, Riley made lots of friends and was getting chased all over the place. Oscar found some other dogs that he liked to play with so they were running and wrestling.

Jaida walked around and did her usual flirty thing. All the boys like her and so do the dog walkers ;-) she is so sweet!

After we wrapped up and dropped everyone off, Oscar stayed with us for the afternoon until we went to the park then we took him home. We’ll be doing that every Monday from now on.

It was a good day and it’s going to be a really busy week!

Tuesday 15 th

Today was a great but BUSY day!

First we started off with our group walk which included Tea Cup, Riley, Sake, Oscar and Casey.

Once we picked everyone up we headed to Winston Churchill Park for some playtime action! Sake was sporting a brand new haircut, he looked very handsome ;-)

Unfortunately we found out yesterday that this will be Sake’s last week with Animal Adventures. He is going on an extended vacation to Montreal and leaving the other kids behind ;-( We’ll be sad to see him go but we had today and we still have Thursday to spend time with him and get some final cuddles in before he leaves. We will miss his very LARGE personality; he is such a joker.

Once we got to the park the kids were off! Sake went visiting... as usual, Riley and Oscar spent a good amount of time wrestling with each other. Tea Cup stuck with me so that we could circulate and she could meet dogs while I was in control. Casey did a bit of everything, playing, hanging, chilling.

The funniest part of the day was Sake getting chased by a Great Dane!!!! OMG I was laughing so hard he was running so fast and the Dane was loping along behind him trying his best to catch him.

There was also a 4 month old German Sheppard puppy that was the size of a grown Lab!!! OMG he was beautiful and is going to be the biggest dog when he is grown up! Wow super cute and super fun to pet and play with. I got a few pics but everyone was moving too quickly:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/PilesOfPuppies?feat=directlink

Once we were finished we got everyone packed up and did the route home.

Today Riley was hanging out with us for the afternoon so we took him and Casey back to our place to have a nap while I went and got Belle.

Today we went to Sherwood for our walk. It was a perfect day, the park was empty! It’s so different from a couple weeks ago. Once we got to the off leash area, she was off. There were TONES of squirrels in the woods and she did her best to chase them through the paths trying to catch one.

She was good and pooped when we got back to the car. It’s such a great work out for them both physically and mentally.

Today we had a full walk at 5:00. This walk included Radar, Jaida, Bogart, Riley and Casey. This was a first for us. I took the group to Sunnybrook so that they could stretch their legs plus I was pooped from my earlier walks so everyone would be happy.

Radar played fetch and ran around in circles with other dogs in the park, he was pooped when we finished our playtime.

Jaida played fetch and wrestled with Riley for a good portion of the outing, they are really hitting it off.

Bogart was more quiet but did his fair share of exploring and chasing. When we were getting prepared to leave Atticus a dog from our local park came in so Bogart spent a lot of time playing with him.

It was a perfect evening at Sunnybrook and the dogs had a lot of fun, I liked having a full walk it’s much easier then misc walks. Plus it was a great group and I had fun.

Lastly tonight I’m going to walk Diva girl for her bedtime walk. It’s been a long day and tomorrow is going to be just as busy and crazy!

Have a great night.

Wednesday 16th

Today was a GREAT day!

We had 2 group walks and a visit with Diva. It was also Casey’s first pet therapy visit of the season through the Burlington Humane Society at the West Oak nursing home in Burlington.

The first walk included Tea Cup, Jaida and Riley. Casey did not come so she could rest before her belly rub session ;-)

For our walk we parked over by Mount Pleasant and walked the Belt Line trail to Oriole Park. It was a perfect day, not too hot and not too cold it was JUST right. We met a few dogs along the trail on the way to the park and everyone was friendly.

When we got to the bridge we did some train watching, Riley knew what it was all about but Jaida and Tea Cup were not sure they liked what was going on. We only saw one train rumble through before moving along.

Once we got to Oriole drive we turned back into the park. We set up in the middle so there was lots of room to run and play. While we were there, a really nice dog named Cooper came by and really hit it off with the kids.

Riley and Jaida spent most of their session chasing and wrestling with each other. When I could get Riley to take a break Jaida did a bunch of fetching. She loves to play fetch.

While those two were playing, Tea Cup was very interested in Cooper. Eventually the two ended up running giant circles and playing together. I have never seen her hit it off with someone like that.

We had a great time and the kids were good and pooped when we were getting ready to leave. We stopped at the bridge for one more look at the trains and then we worked our way back to the car.

After we were done Henry and Casey left for Burlington while I took Jaida and Tea Cup home. Riley was spending the afternoon with me and going out on a second walk. Jaida was also coming on the second walk but she needed a break from Riley so she took the afternoon at home to relax.

Our second walk of the day was a busy one! We had Riley, Jaida, Casey, Belle, Bogart and Bobby (the 3 B’s). For the second night in a row we went to Sunnybrook. It’s a perfect place for Belle to stretch her legs and the newer dogs to play and get to know me and the other pack members.

We had a great time!

Belle spent most of her time breaking up the little ones when they were getting too crazy, she also herded them around the park as only she can ;-) She has a good time playing with the little guys and is surprisingly gentle with the kids.

Riley and Jaida... well they ran in circles and wrestled of course. Jaida also played lots of fetch and mingled with the other dogs in the park. She is the most social one in the group that is for sure. She never wants to leave when it’s time to go. That girls got energy!

When they weren’t wrestling Riley also ran around chasing Casey and then Bogart. He was running pretty much the entire time at the park. I’m sure he’ll sleep well tonight.

Bogart was a social butterfly. He mingled with the other dogs and explored the park from one end to the other. He’s a very independent guy. He did some good chasing with our pack members as well as some new friends.

Bobby is a sweet heart! He played ball (he is ball crazy) and raced with Jaida to catch the rope when I tossed it. We strolled around the park to make sure he was getting his exercise. He did some mingling but mostly stuck by me... he was my little shadow. We also played tug-o-war with the rope which he is really good at. He won more matches then I won.

Once we got the pack loaded up and dropped off, we only had a good night pee break with Diva to end off the day.

It was a great one, I had a lot of fun and now I’m going to bed!

Thursday 17th

We had a great day today!

We decided to have a going away party for Sake at the beach! We had Riley all day then picked up Belle, Sake and Mr Big and headed out on our way.

The beach was great today, the water was perfect, the sun was out, the temperature was just right.

The kids ran around and swam, played with other dogs, dug in the sand they had a fantastic time. Sake was his usual happy-go-lucky self goofing off playing with everyone and having a great time.

Belle was a social butterfly. She would chase the little dogs around if they got too rambunctious and said hello to all the new dogs that passed through.

Casey ran around a bit and dug in the sand but mostly she watched the others do their thing.

Mr Big stuck with me and hung out enjoying the sunshine. He was a total cuddle bug.

Here are some pics of the group in action:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/SakeSGoingAwayParty?authkey=Gv1sRgCLXCjaPBxfS_6AE&feat=directlink

Next I went and picked up Diva for a stroll. We walked over to pick up Oscar then strolled back to the park. Diva wasn’t ready to stop so we went to Pet Cuisine and around through the school and back to her place. It was a great walk and she was a good girl.

Once we dropped her off Oscar and I went and got Casey then took him home.

We have one more walk this evening with Bobby.

Henry took him out this evening, I needed a break ;-) They strolled around the area cutting through the school and down to the park. He toddled along sniffing and peeing on everything. They had a great walk and it is a great way to end the day.

Have a good night and talk to you tomorrow.

Friday 18th

Today was a very good day. We only had 1 walk and I was thankful for the break.

We also had a special guest Prince the pug that is staying with me for the weekend. Since it was a special day I thought we would head to the brick works. The group included Riley, Tea Cup, Prince and Casey.

It was another beautiful day at the brick works... it’s starting to look like Fall and will continue to look better and better as the weeks go by.

The group walked so well together in perfect formation with the odd wrestling session breaking out from time to time.
We chased some bugs and looked for turtles, the usual brick works activities then we headed to the off leash area.

It was busy as usual. We did a number of laps of the park visiting with dogs as we went. Tea Cup did exceptionally well today, she was nervous around the groups of dogs as they came by but stuck with me and we made it through. She even said hello all on her own to a couple big puppies that wandered by.

Riley and Casey went 4 wheeling through the bushes and trees jumping over logs and stumps looking for anything they could catch.
Prince stuck beside me because he was a little nervous about the whole situation and eventually joined Riley and Casey jumping through the bushes.

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/FallAtTheBrickWorks?feat=directlink

It was a great day and a great walk. We were taking care of Riley for the afternoon so once we dropped off Tea Cup we came back and we all had an afternoon nap ;-)

Once we dropped of Riley, Casey, Prince and I headed for the park to visit our friends. Oscar was there and he was beating up on Casey as usual. Prince started to wrestle and chase baby Charlie (when Oscar was done with him) I don't think I have ever seen Prince move that much and that quickly! He was on fire!

We’ve got some fun things planned for this weekend, have a great time everyone.

Weekend 19th, 20th

We had a really busy weekend this week!

Prince, Belle and I hit the beach for some sun shinny fun! Casey and Henry were away so they didn’t join us.

Belle had a good time playing with Prince and chasing him around. Prince had a great time swimming and fetching sticks. Prince is a born swimmer and was super cute bobbing along in the water.

Here are some pics of the beach babies:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/PrinceAtTheBeach?feat=directlink

Once Belle and Prince were looking sleepy we headed back home.

Once I got home I had a visit with the lovely and talented Diva plus I needed to pick up my old friend Mia (who had stayed with us a while ago). Prince stayed home to have a nap because he was really tired after the beach excitement.

I went over and picked up Diva and we headed over to Mia’s house. Once we picked up Mia we worked our way back to the park to see if anyone was around. After visiting with some of the local dogs, we strolled around the new back garden and then took Diva home.

When we left, Mia and I worked our way back to my place to pick up Prince! He was well rested and ready to roll! We headed back to the park to play with more of the local doggies then when everyone started to head home Prince and I walked Mia back to her place. It was a great walk and a perfect afternoon.

Lastly on Saturday we were babysitting a dog named Bonita for a couple hours while her parents were at a local dinner theatre. Well Bonita was a 9 month old Doberman who was full of energy and the size of one of my parent’s horse colts!

Prince and I tried to take her for a quick walk and expend some of that excitement but it didn’t go very well. We decided to head back home.

Bonita proceeded to run around my apartment in circles... through the kitchen, up on the couch, back through the kitchen, up on the couch (oh did I mention that I was sitting on the couch). This went on for hours!

She also decided that she was in LOVE with Prince so she would kiss and lick him and clean him... he didn’t fight because he knew he didn’t stand a chance in that battle.

Once Bonita’s parents came to pick her up we passed out from the long day of fun and excitement!

On Sunday it was a much more low key day, we ended up picking up Riley and then taking the three of them to the beach again. Riley was super excited and needed to expend some energy and there is no place better then the beach!

Casey and Prince were more like beach babies, lying in the sun.... Riley was all over the place! He met one dog who loved to chase and be chased so they ran around for a good 15 – 20 minutes, I was so happy.

Next a 5 month old westie came by named Winston... well him and Riley spent the next half our nonstop wrestling!! I begged the people not to leave until they were completely done the two of them were absolutely pooped by the time we left!

Riley fought it for a couple minutes but was FAST asleep in about 10 minutes and slept the whole way home. We all had a good nap when we got back to my place as it had been a really long weekend.

Once we took Riley home Prince, Casey and I headed to the park then back home to relax for the rest of the evening.

Prince was so excited to see his mommy when she came to pick him up... lots of kisses and hugs!

It was a great weekend filled with lots of sun, surf and fun! Talk to everyone next week!

Monday 7th

Today was a much needed relaxing day with Animal Adventures. We’ve been go-go-go for the past couple weeks so I was happy to have a low key day.

In the morning I had my last visit with my new friend Pumpkin the parrot. Today went GREAT. She is finally starting to come around (of course she is it’s out last day).

When I got her out of the cage she was dancing and singing and happy to see me. To mix it up a bit today I put her on the bird stand by the kitchen table so that she could have a change of scenery. We sang songs and danced together she was a total angel.

Next I put her on the floor for a bit of a run around and was able to pick her up and get her back to the cage without incident.

When she was standing on the cage, we continued to play and dance and did some more “step ups”. I was even able to get her into the cage with no problems.

It was a great last day, parrot sitting was fun and different I’m glad they chose me to take care of their baby it was a great learning experience.

Next we had a play date with Riley. We headed down to Cherry beach to hang out for the afternoon. Casey and him ran around for a bit but then Casey was really tired (it was a long weekend for her too, she was pooped) so I needed to keep Riley occupied so he didn’t tease her to death ;-)

After hanging on the beach we decided to walk around the paths in the trees. The air show was on that afternoon so we had a couple planes fly over while we were sitting there, then when we were walking down the paths we found that there is a great view of the downtown area from the end of the park.

Lots of people had gathered to watch the planes fly around and we hung out for a bit to watch the show. After we had our fill of planes, we headed home so Casey could go to bed.

Lastly I had a dinner date with the lovely and talented Diva. Casey and I went over and met her then we went for a lovely stroll around the block. We ran into Bernie on the back lawn and Diva was excited to get brushed by Pat... she had LOTS of hair to be removed and loved the attention.

It was a great way to end a very relaxing afternoon.

Tuesday 8th

We have three walks today.

First off we had the group walk which included Jaida, Riley, Sake and Casey. We decided to go to the Winston Churchill off leash park to run around. There were a couple really nice Doberman puppies that the group was playing with and trying to teach them how to play fetch.

While we were there a few other dog walkers arrived and the kids had a great time running around and visiting with the new arrivals.

Jaida immediately went off with one of the other dog walkers and took a stroll around the park. Sake and Riley continued to wrestle and run around with the new dogs while Casey took some alone time under a shady tree and watched the kids play.

They had a great time and were all pretty quiet on the ride home which is always a sign that they had a fantastic time.

Next I went and picked up Belle for our afternoon bonding session. Today we went to Sherwood Park. We have gotten into our groove when walking together so we made quick work of getting to the wooded off leash area.

Today we decided to run through the off leash park rather than just the loop in the park. She was such a great girl! She would run along ahead of me then stop and look back to make sure she was ok. I would tell her to keep going and she would run along ahead.

She was never out of my sight and was always checking in. We meet up with a couple groups of dogs inside the park and she said hello to everyone and walked with them through the rest of the off leash area.

When we worked our way back to the car she was happy and skipping along like a happy puppy.

Lastly today I’m walking a new dog named Bogart (nick name Bugsy). I picked him up and to my surprise he had gotten a hair cut... A wicked awesome hair cut!! Bugsy was sporting a Mohawk!!

He looked so cute and quite different from his usually curly haired self. While on our walk up Yonge Street he received many compliments from passersby about his fashion forward doo. We took a nice stroll checking out the construction and made our way around the block to the lawn behind the dog park.

There we met up with Remi and Hazel. I finally got some picture of them! They had a good time checking out Bogie’s hair and playing around on the lawn.

Meet Remi and Hazel and check out Bogarts new Mohawk:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/MohawksAndWrinkles?feat=directlink

It was such a nice night to just hang out and visit! It was a busy night, while we were there Tea Cup came through with Bessie followed by Bently and Brady.

Well Bently totally hit it off with Bogart! They were sniffing each other up and checking each other out. This was nice because Bently usually doesn’t get that involved in the dogs.

Finally along came Jaida and Baby Charlie! So many doggies and so little time ;-)

Once we had our fill of playing we worked our way around to the front of the building to see the rest of the local doggies.

Everyone was admiring Bogart’s new doo, he was definitely the hit of the park.

It was a great day now we’re ready for a rest. Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Wednesday 9th

We had 3 walks today.

For the group walk we had Tea Cup, Jaida, Riley and Casey. I promised Tea Cup that we would take her somewhere fun for her second outing with the group.

We got everyone picked up and headed down to the Brick Works. It was a beautiful day out, no clouds and perfect weather.

We started out with the usual stroll around the park, checking the ponds for our nemesis the giant snapping turtle but instead we came across a Blue Heron!! It was very cool looking and really close to the bridge.

Check out the kids in action and our new bird friend:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/SunShinnyFallDayAtTheBrickWorks?feat=directlink

There were TONES of grass hoppers out today it was crazy no matter where you step they were jumping out of the way and into the grass. The dogs were loving it!!!

While we were going around we ran into two really big dogs, one mix and the other was a Rottweiler, well I was walking ahead and looked back to see if the rest of the group was coming and there was Jaida... laying on her back with her legs in the air and the two big dogs were sniffing her up. She does LOVE her big dogs doesn’t she ;-)

Once we made our way around the park we headed to the off leash area. It was rather busy today with lots of dog walkers coming in and out with their packs. Jaida was off (as usual) with another group bouncing around the park and saying hello to the big doggies.

Riley and Casey stuck near me but also had fun jumping around on the logs and rocks in the park.

Tea Cup, well Tea Cup was extremely shy around the other dogs. I can understand that it was a bit overwhelming with that many new dogs at one time. I kept her on a leash and we worked our way around the park. She would play when there weren’t too many dogs around then she would come back to me when she got nervous.

She will get used to it the more she goes to off leash parks and socializes with new dogs. We’ll take good care of her!

Next we picked up my girl Belle and we headed to the Belt Line. It was such a hot sunny day I needed to get out of the elements and get into the shade. Too much sun gives me headaches!!!! Yes office people, I can hear you playing violins for me ;-)

Well it was another beautiful day on the Belt Line, very quiet and peaceful. We ran into a couple packs of dogs out enjoying the trail as well as a couple crying babies. Belle took it all in stride and kept prancing along.

When we got to Oriole Park she saw Henry and Casey waiting for us and I let her bolt and go say hello. We’ve started doing this recently and she loves to get one last sprint in before hitting the road. Her mom requested a picture of Belle in the car so here you go... that is one happy puppy!!!!

Lastly today I met up with my old gal Diva for a stroll around the block (of course we stopped at Pet Cuisine). It’s great to end the day with her, she is such a great dog to walk, very mellow and happy to be out in the sunshine.

Have a great night everyone and talk to you tomorrow.

Thursday 10th

Today we had 2 walks which was great, Casey needed a bit of a break.

Our first walk included Jaida, Riley, Sake and Casey. We went to Sherwood Park to run around in the woods. This was Sake’s first time at that park and I was sure he was going to love it.

We let Casey run off leash for about 5 minutes then she ran off into the bushes. When she returned, she was on leash arrest for the rest of the walk. The other 3 were so good, they played together and walked together, they were so well behaved.

It was quiet in the park today, not many other dogs but the ones we did run into, the group welcomed and chased them around with so much excitement.

Sake enjoyed sniffing everything along the trails, bouncing along happy to be out enjoying the sunshine.

Riley chased Jaida around the park with Sake at his side. The two of them had a great time trying to catch her as she ran by.

When we were done we were walking out and the little water park (sprinkler park) was still working. Since there were no kids around THANK GOD we had some fun!

We ran around the splash pad running through the sprinklers and chasing water drops. It was very refreshing and a great way to end the walk. Everyone was good and tuckered out when we dropped them off.

My next walk was with the lovely and talented Diva. Casey came with me and we had a great stroll around the area. Of course we ended up and Pet Cuisine and got a couple treats for the evening. We also caught up with some dogs that we don’t see that often, it was a beautiful evening to play catch up.

Once we dropped Diva off we were done for the evening. It was a great day and we’ll talk to everyone tomorrow.

Friday 11th

Today we had 2 walks then we were taking care of the lovely and talented Diva for the evening.

For our group walk we had Jaida, Tea Cup, Riley and Casey. We went to Sunnybrook to do some running and socializing. We also had Henry’s friend Marissa along for the ride to see the kids in action.

When we got to the park Jaida was off to do her visiting (of course), riley was more reserved and stuck by Casey. Tea Cup was very nervous so she stuck by me on leash for the duration of the outing.

Jaida instantly entrenched herself into a group of dogs and had fun running around and chasing each other around. Skye a big collie from our area, she is a huge version of Jaida and we spent a lot of time with his pack of dogs visiting and playing.

Riley made friends with a dog who generally does not socialize with other dogs. This seems to be a trend for Riley, he attracts the dogs who are more quiet.

Casey did he own thing bouncing between me and Henry & Marissa visiting all the dogs along the way.

Tea Cup and I walked around the park visiting different groups of dogs working on her socialization and comfort level. She was very brave and was a very good girl. She didn’t make any friends but didn’t lose her mind either. I was very proud of her she did a great job today.

It was a perfect day to be at the park the weather was great and the dogs were all in a great mood, we had a good time as usual.

For my walk with Belle, I decided to go back to Sunnybrook. She always has a great time at Sunnybrook. It was quiet in the park by the time we got there, just enough dogs to have fun but not too many to be really crazy.

Belle was really reserved today and spent a lot of time running around the outside of the circle watching what everyone was doing. We spent a good portion of our visit walking around the park letting Belle run around and act silly. She found a couple dogs who wandered away from the main pack to chase around for a bit and was very happy to meet them.

By the time we were finished she was good and tired and ready to go home and relax. I love going to the park with her, she is so much fun and such a good girl.

Next we picked up the lovely and talented Diva to come over for a slumber party with Casey. She did not want to stray from her usual walking route to come to my house. We had a really interesting walk, Casey pulling me and Diva dragging behind. After a nice slow stroll we finally got home and got her settled.

We had a good night watching movies and having a girls evening in.

It was a great day and this weekend is going to be a VERY relaxing weekend which is going to be a welcome change.

Weekend 12th, 13th

We had a quiet weekend which was nice.

We started out with only 1 walk on Saturday and by the end of the day we had 3.

First I picked up Belle for an early evening romp at Sunnybrook. Casey came with us, Belle had a great time chasing her around and playing with her. I’ve even discovered that Belle likes to chase sticks! We played some good games of fetch.

There weren’t too many dogs in the park which was good but it wasn’t great for Bellie. She didn’t find anyone she wanted to latch onto and chase around. She is very particular in who she chases ;-)

Next I met up with a new pack member named Bobby, a super cute Cocker Spaniel that I am starting to walk. We went on a nice stroll around the block getting to know each other. It was just a short walk but I’m spending more time with him on Wednesday so we’ll learn more about each other at that time.

It was such a beautiful evening, I was happy to be outside.

Lastly Casey and I went to visit a dog we have not seen in weeks, Radar the black lab. He needed a good night pee break so we took him for a stroll around the block. It was still beautiful out, Yonge Street was busy as well so it was nice to see everyone coming and going.

I hope I will be seeing him again soon; he is a really funny do with a great sense of humour! He makes me laugh and it’s nice to have a dog like that around.

Sunday I had THE ENTIRE DAY OFF so I took advantage of it.

Talk to everyone next week.
