Monday 26th

Today we have 2 walks and we are going to start to say goodbye to our house guests.

The group walk today was a big one; it included Riley, Oscar, Tea Cup, Jaida, Sushi, Tony and Casey.

It was a beautiful day so we headed down to the Brickworks for a nice fall walk. The colours are fantastic right now! We split up into two groups (boys vs girls of course) and went for our usual walk around the trails.

Oscar has not been to the Brickworks with us before so he enjoyed sniffing everything and getting to know the area.

We made quick work of our walk so we could get to the good part – the off leash park!

Riley and Oscar were running and wrestling and enjoying seeing each other again, it’s been a few weeks since Oscar has been out with the group and Riley needed a fix.

Riley is starting to do more off-roading through the bushes following Casey as she tears around the park. That kid is always busy... never standing still.

Jaida had a bit more freedom today (since Oscar was there keeping Riley occupied) so she spent a lot of time visiting with the other dogs and walkers and enjoying the break.

Tea cup did the rounds with us every other round... she hung out with Henry one round then when we got to Henry she would jump back in and smack Riley on the bum to get him to chase her. Next round she would hang out with her precious Henry again then repeat.

Sushi did so well, she came along for most of the rounds only taking a break from time to time to hang out and keep Henry company. She’s so tiny I kept losing her in my shadow! She had a great time running around and exploring.

Tony hung out with me for a majority of the walk and did get some off leash time. He did really well and kept up with Riley and Oscar and was part of their shenanigans.

It was a perfect day for a walk! I grabbed a few pictures of the fall colours and the fun:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/AnotherFallDayAtTheBrickWorks?feat=directlink

Once we got everyone packed up Henry went and met up with Belle.

They headed to Sunnybrook for their outing. Since it was a nice day they headed down the trails to get some exercise and get in touch with nature.

In the afternoon we dropped off Tony and said our goodbyes, we had a great time with him and love having him around. He’s a total cuddle bug ;-)

Have a great day everyone, we’ll talk to you tomorrow.

Tuesday 27th

We had 3 walks today plus it was our last day with the kids... as tenants not pack members ;-)

We also welcomed a new member to our Animal Adventures pack, Chloe the most adorable little girl with a dark side ;-)
Along with Chloe we had Riley, Jaida, Pepper, Seamus, Sushi, Biggie and Casey. We headed to Sunnybrook to run the trails and let the group get to know Chloe.

We had a blast!!!

We headed straight back to the trails to get busy.

Chloe was following Jaida and Riley’s lead. The three of them really get along great. At one point she ran down the hill onto the first “beach”, mis-judged the depth of the water and ran right in over her head then had to swim back out! It caught her a bit off guard but she didn’t care she proceeded to tear around getting good and dirty and loved every minute of it.

Riley moved from Jaida to Chloe and back again running and chasing and wrestling and enjoying his harem. All the girls love Riley – it’s his energetic personality that gets them every time.

Jaida did some solo exploring when Riley was otherwise occupied. She loves hanging out in the park and visiting with the other dogs and is always the social butterfly.

Pepper herded everyone keeping us moving and together, she is a great mother! She also did lots of “singing” along the way it was a great song called “Bark”.

Seamus was the one that cleared the path for the others and made sure it was safe to move ahead, he would tear up the path then come screaming back through hustling us along.

Sushi did a little bit if solo exploring but also hung out with Casey... well I guess she got chased and knocked down by Casey.
Biggie toddled along behind me and got a ride when he had enough exploring. He was good and muddy and always has a great time.

When we wrapped up on the trails we headed back to the park for the remainder of our outing, pepper played fetch while Seamus mingled. Chloe, Riley and Jaida ran and wrestled. Casey, Sushi and Biggie chilled out with me.

It was an awesome outing, I grabbed some pictures of the craziness:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/NewFriendsAtSunnybrook?feat=directlink

When we were wrapped up at the park we dropped everyone off - including our precious kids! It’s been 2 and a half weeks hanging out with them and we were sad to see them go... but I was looking forward to seeing my kitties again ;-)

Finally that afternoon we split up to do two different walks, I hit the road with Diva and Henry hit the park with Bogart.

Since Bogart has been a bit of a runner as of late they headed to Winston Churchill so they had a nice big secure park to let him run without worrying about him. They had a great time, Bogart ran and played and visited with some of the local dogs and played lots of “fetch” ... as Henry says he thinks he has A.D.D... he had to do more fetching then Bogart did.

My walk with Diva was nice; Casey, Diva and I strolled around and stopped into Pet Cuisine for our usual visit. We proceeded back to the park where everyone was coming out to enjoy the lovely evening. Since it is fall there are lots of leaf piles around the block. Diva stopped at each one and jumped in to sniff and check them out. I grabbed a few pictures because she was so cute splashing around in the piles.

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/OldFriendsJumpingInLeaves?feat=directlink

It was such a nice night everyone met up at the park and we all sat around and chatted. Casey passed out she was so tired from the day and Henry made it back to pick us up so we could head home.

What a great day but LONG day. We’ll talk to everyone tomorrow.

Wednesday 28th

Ah today was a wet one!

We only have 2 walks today, the group and then a bedtime pee break with Diva.

Since it was kind of wet and yucky we decided to stay close to home and hit Sherwood. It wasn’t really raining it was just spitting the entire time! Ugh! The only thing that brightens up a yucky day is super cute puppy faces and we had a lot of them today. The group included Riley, Prince, Molly, Tea Cup, Chloe and Casey.

Molly was the leader of the pack today! She was running and bumping everyone trying to get everyone moving. She met a couple poodles on the trail who she enthusiastically kissed and danced with.

Molly & Chloe were great playmates today, they ran and wrestled with each other and had a great time.

The second half of the loop Chloe stuck by me and strolled along instead of running ahead with the other kids. I kept losing her in my shadow... she’s so small and moves quickly I kept asking “where’s Chloe” and there she was looking up at me with those beautiful eyes.

Riley and Tea cup were bouncing around chasing each other up the trail and back. They have really hit it off and play well together. Tea Cup likes to keep her eye on Henry and make sure he’s keeping up. If he’s falling behind she will go back and stay with him until she knows he’s ok then she comes charging along back into the lead.

Riley even got Prince to run around and chase today. Prince is more of a passive participant and likes to keep his eyes on everyone and ensure no one is doing anything stupid. The two of them were running back and forth on the trail, you could hear Prince coming... snorting huffing and puffing all the way... Prince is a pug ;-)

Riley was Riley, he is the center of the universe and is the one of keeps everyone moving! You can always count on him to keep things interesting.

When it came time to leave everyone sat nice and got hooked up for our walk back to the car but young Molly decided she wasn’t ready to leave. After some negotiation and help from another dog father in the park she was hooked up and we were ready to roll.

It’s been cold wet day but we had a good time. One visit left with Diva then it’s bedtime!

Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Thursday 29th

Today we had 4 walks and we welcomed a new doggie to our pack.

It was kind of an overcast damp and dreary day so we decided to take our crew to Winston Churchill for our outing. Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Sweet Pea the most delicious doggie to our daily walk group.
Along with Sweet Pea we had Riley, Tea Cup, Casey, Seamus, Chloe, Missy, Sushi, Biggie. It was a BIG group today!

The park was quiet when we got there which was great for Sweet Pea to get to know the other dogs but it was soon packed with puppies!

Sweet Pea was very reserved today, she liked to stay on the sidelines and watch the comings and goings. It wasn’t too long before she was mixing and mingling with the other doggies and getting to know her new pack mates. She started to slow down about half way through so we hooked her up and we kept strolling. She was super sweet and is going to be a great addition to our group.

Riley, Tea Cup and Chloe spent a lot of time together running around the park chasing each other and wrestling.

Riley and Chloe decided they were going to have some fun playing in the giant mud puddle at the front of the park. No matter how many times you tell them to get out they were like magnets – they would run right back in! Little bums!!

Tea Cup spent a good portion of the outing stalking Henry as she does... she loves Henry ;-) She also mixed and mingled with other dogs from other packs, she has really grown since she started hanging out with us.

Chloe also mixed it up with Casey, they did a fair amount of wrestling and Casey “T-boned” her more than a few times, Casey likes to do that – what a brat!

Riley likes to keep everyone on their toes, you never know when someone is going to run by you and grab your tail! Riley is totally a tail grabber ;-)

Seamus was the odd man out today. Surrounded by the little ones he was trying to get them to play but there were too small ;-( He ended up mixing and mingling with dogs from other packs who were more his size. He takes such great care of our little doggies! He’s like the big brother, keeping everyone together and moving along.

Missy was happy to cruise around the park sniffing as she goes. She was sick earlier in the week so it was good to see her back to her happy self. I think she is going to be BFFs with Sweet Pea they are very similar dogs in that they are the strong silent types.

Biggie and Sushi were cold so after trotting around the park for half the outing they got to ride in my jacket for the last half. That is their favourite place!

Once everyone was packed up and ready to go we made our way back to the car. There was a great pile of fallen leaves so we stopped to take some pictures before heading out.

We took lots of pics today of the group and Sweet Pea – enjoy:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/OurFirstDayWithSweetPea?feat=directlink

In the afternoon Henry took Diva to Sunnybrook to run the trails. They had a great time and got to visit with some of the dogs in the park as well.

Finally we split up and Henry picked up Jaida and she went with him to take the kids and Riley home When they were downtown they had their session at Riverdale park. They did lots of fetching and running and visiting. She had a great time.

Casey and I went to pick up Diva and we did our usual stroll around the neighbourhood and visit with the local puppy dogs.

It was another great day and another long day. We’ll see everyone tomorrow.

Friday 30th

Today we only had one walk and I’m very glad because it’s a dull rainy day!

We decided to do our group walk a little bit later today to see if we could avoid a downpour. We got lucky, when we got to the park it was less than a drizzle and was actually almost warm out.

The group walk included Riley, Pepper, Tea Cup, Chloe, Sweet pea and Casey. We went to Taylor Creek park our session.

The group had a great time playing in the wet leaves!

Riley, Tea cup and Chloe were running around chasing each other all over the place. The three of them are tied at the hip. It’s great to see them getting along so well.

Pepper ran ahead to make sure the trail was clear and gave the “all is well ahead” bark when she was ready for us to proceed ;-) Riley joined in bouncing along with her happy to be so helpful.

Sweet Pea was great, she ran along happy to be out and about. She got into fighting position and tried to play with some of the dogs but they didn’t bite, they were too busy running around.

Tea Cup got very worried at one point, Henry was lagging behind and she got very worried he was missing. When she finally saw him she went charging along the path happy to be reunited with him.

On our stroll Henry found a baby dead snake..... YUCK dead or alive I hate snakes. Henry and Tea Cup stayed back and took a picture of it.... YUCK!!! Crazy people!!!

When we were getting wrapped up poor little Chloe was so dirty and so wet she was shivering! It was time for her to get warm!

We loaded everyone up and brought out the towels to wrap everyone up.... then we noticed the SMELL. This is the second time we’ve been at this park in the rain and we now know that the dogs end up smelling like something that is dead! Mixed with wet dog smell it’s enough to make your stomach turn!!!

Phew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was happy to have an empty car at the end of the day.

Even though it was raining I got some fun pictures of our time out and about:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/RainyAfternoonFun?feat=directlink

It’s time to go get warm and dry, have a great night and we’ll talk to everyone this weekend.

Weekend 31st, 1st

This weekend is a busy weekend but a fun weekend.

Seamus was coming to stay overnight on Saturday night while his parents were going out of town so we picked up Belle and headed down to Cherry Beach to run around and tire the doggies out. It was nice down there, windy but nice.

Seamus and Belle hit it off and had a great time tearing around the paths and jumping in the water. There was a fair amount of dogs in the park so both of them spent a lot of time visiting and playing with the other kids. We walked around the park twice then decided it was time to roll.

When we got home we got ready and headed to the local dog park for a Howl-o-ween party. Everyone had a great time switching costumes and playing around. The wind died down so it was actually a really nice evening.

Here are some pics of the fun:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/HowlOWeen2009?feat=directlink

Finally Seamus, Casey and I headed over to visit Molly place for a bedtime pee break then we called it a day.

On Sunday we picked up Belle again and we all headed down to High Park for another fun outing.

It was CRAZY BUZY in the dog park today! Everyone and their dog was out today (pardon the pun).

On the first round of the trails Belle, Seamus, Casey and I ran around having a good time. We mixed and mingled with other dogs on the trails and enjoyed running through the leaves.

It was a nice day, not too cold and not windy it was a really nice fall day.

Seamus ran back and forth and ventured off the trail a couple times but always came back to see where I was.

Belle stuck with me making sure that Seamus didn’t get lost and that Casey was alright. She is a great big sister!!!
Once we climbed the REALLY BIG HILL and got back to the “bowl” we hung out with Henry for a bit before doing lap # 2.

It was just Seamus, Belle and I this round Casey stayed with Henry. We took a different walkway and ended up turning right instead of left and went around AGAIN. We were all good and tired when we got back to the “bowl”.

Everyone took a minute to catch their breath and then we headed out.

Once we dropped off Belle and Seamus we headed home for a good old fashion nap! I took a bunch of pictures with Belle and Seamus at Cherry Beach and High Park, enjoy the fun and games:

Monday 19th

Today was another fine day in Toronto.

Our group walk consisted of Riley, Sushi, Tea Cup, Jaida, Casey and our old friend Tony! Tony is going to be staying with us for a few days so we were getting re-acquainted before his visit.

We decided that since it was such a perfect day that we would hit Cherry Beach to enjoy the sunshine.

What a perfect day! Sun was out, water was calm, and the dogs were playing.

Riley and Jaida were off chasing each other around the park as soon as the leashes were off. Those two are inseparable. They both splashed around in the lake and Jaida had a blast trying to catch the waves as they rolled in. Riley loves to push buttons and kept working on Casey and Tea cup to get them to play.

Tea Cup did her best to get into the game but only when she was good and ready. Other than that she spent lots of time exploring and smelling everything. She also was really social and actually said hello to some of the dogs who came over to sniff her up. She is getting very brave the more she hangs out with us.

Sushi had a great time, she spent most of her time with me watching the dogs play. She loved to play on the beach and jump on the rocks. She also snuggled under a bench with a big husky doggie while we were talking to her owner. What a cutie.

Tony was a tad bit overwhelmed at the beginning of the outing with all the other dogs and the park but that passed very quickly. We didn’t let him go off leash today because Cherry Beach isn’t very secure and we wanted him to have a good time without getting into too much trouble to going off on a solo adventure. He got a kick out of watching the other dogs play and sniffing absolutely everything in the park.

Check out the good times we had:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/PerfectFallDayAtCherryBeach03?feat=directlink

We took the long way home up Yonge Street and Tony and Tea Cup had a great time watching the people walk by out the window while Jaida and Riley wrestled... of course.

Once everyone was home I went and picked up Belle for our afternoon walk.

We decided to go to Sherwood Park today and do some running around. It was very quiet in the park today we only saw a couple of dogs while we were there. Belle was in fine form and had a great time running around and zooming past me going mach 10 with her hair on fire.

She likes to play chicken.... run directly towards you and veer off at the very last second, laughing all the way. Silly girl!

At dinnertime we packed everyone up and headed to the park at the corner, since it was a nice night we saw everyone! It was a crazy busy night and the dogs had a great time catching up, running around and wrestling. It was great to see some old faces we haven’t seen in a while.

Finally this evening Henry went to visit Bobby to take him out for an evening pee break.

Let’s hope the weather holds up and we can enjoy more days like today! Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Tuesday 20th

Today was a nice day and we only had 1 walk so we headed to Sunnybrook (my favourite sunny fall day destination).

The group walk included Riley, Jaida, Pepper, Seamus, Casey, Sushi, Biggie, Missy and Tony (who is staying with us for a few days).

It was a perfect day and actually warm if not hot outside!

As soon as we hit the park we headed through the off leash area to the trails to play. Everyone was bounding around, the big kids were jumping in the water and the little ones were sniffing everything and running along behind.

Jaida was busy mixing and mingling with the other dogs in the park so we started off without here while Henry went to retrieve her and catch up.

Seamus, Pepper & Riley were the leaders of our little pack. The three of them tore up and down the path launching over tree trunks, gullies, rocks and mud puddles while the rest of us strolled along catching up.

Tony was on leash just in case he decided to take a run into the woods following a creature of some sort. Eventually I did let go of the leash and he joined in the Seamus, Pepper & Riley race.

Sushi spent a lot of time with Casey running and wrestling while Biggie waddled along behind and got rides from me when he needed a break.

Missy was a woman on a mission! She was miss independent strolling along by herself and going at her own pace.

When we were on our way back we met up with Jaida who got into the game and raced the rest of the group back to the park stopping to splash around a couple times along the way.

Everyone was good and muddy from their adventures.

In the park everyone strolled around visiting, chasing and mixing and mingling until it was time to head home.

We had a great outing and a great day, talk to everyone tomorrow.

Wednesday 21st

Today is a BUSY day! We have 3 walks and they are calling for rain!

The group walk included Riley, Tea Cup, Prince, Sushi, Biggie, Tony, Casey and a new dog to our group Molly. We decided to head to Winston Churchill so that we could get to know Molly in the security of a well fenced park.

When we got to the park it started to spit then turned into light rain... the worst kind of rain, not really rain and not really drizzle. Thank GOD for umbrellas!

Our newest pack member Molly is an adorable wheaten puppy who is full of energy and ready to play. She got along great with everyone in the group, she ran and chased Riley, she ran and chased a beagle that we met in the park. She was digging and playing and had a great time. She also hit it off with another dog walker who she loved and chummed around with for a good part of the outing.

Riley hit it off with the same beagle; they tore up the field running in circles. That dog really gave Riley a run for his money. Riley almost caught his tail but the dad was laughing that his dog wasn’t going at top speed; she still had 2 gears left to go. Good try Riley!

Prince mixed and mingled and stuck with me most of the time wandering around the park. There was another pug in the park and they were visiting and comparing “Life as a Pug” notes. It’s funny when I look at pictures; Prince is always taking care of the other pack members. He likes to keep his eyes open and make sure everyone is having a safe and happy time.

Tony did lots of running and chasing. He also did lots of singing... he has a lovely singing voice. I think he had a really great time playing and meeting the other dogs in the group. He got along well with Prince and Riley and took his turn in their chasing games.

Tea cup was so funny today; she was begging to be chased but was very selective who was going to chase her! Tony took her on a couple times and so did Riley. She always stayed one step ahead of them and laughed as she went.

Biggie and Sushi rode around in my coat for a majority of the outing; it was too wet for them to be running around so they got to have the luxury tour.

I grabbed a couple pictures of the group in play:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/WinstonChurchillParkOnAWetAfternoon?feat=directlink

Next Henry took Belle to Sherwood to run around.
Finally this afternoon we had a “boy’s only” play date. I was allowed to come because... well.... because I’m allowed damn it!

The group consisted of Tony, Riley, Prince, Bobby and Bogart. Since we had to take Riley home we headed for Riverdale Park to run around. We were trying to beat the rain and we got lucky it didn’t start until we were on the way home.

When we got to the park the guys were off running.

Bobby was playing fetch... that is all he ever wants to do is play fetch.

We had Bogart on leash at the beginning of the outing but him and Riley really wanted to play so we let him go. Riley and Bogart were chasing each other in circles, running around like crazy doggies. They are a good play match.

Prince was doing his usual “playground monitoring” thing and helped to keep everyone together.

Tony was just having a great time being out and loved the second round of fresh air.

Everything was going swimmingly until Bogart decided to go on a bit of a “walk about”. After playing a game of doggie rodeo we finally caught up with him and headed out.

What a long day, now for the warmth of my bed!! Have a great night, will talk to everyone tomorrow.

Thursday 22nd

Today we had a busy day with 4 walks. The weather was also a total rollercoaster, bring on pneumonia!!!!

The group walk consisted of Riley, Tea Cup, Seamus, Tony and Casey. The kids stayed home today to take a break they’ve been really busy this week and it don’t want to wear them out. We headed for the Brick works since it was going to be a nice afternoon we wanted to take advantage of it.

When we got to the park we started out with our usual walk. I took the boys and Henry took the girls and we were off. It was so hot Henry and I were shedding layers around the paths, it was borderline humid. What a nice throw back to summer after the last cool rainy weeks.

Tony was excited to be out; he was sniffing everything and enjoying the bugs and critters along the paths.

Seamus was also a busy boy sniffing along the way and enjoying looking at the fall colours.

Riley was his usual self. We have to keep him away from the girls because all he does is play and flirt.

Tea Cup was with Henry so she was super happy... she loves Henry ;-)

When we hit the off leash area the fun began. There were a fair amount of dogs in the park today and all of us dog walkers were enjoying the beautiful weather.

When we were making the rounds we came across one of nature’s creatures... a tiny garter snake!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE SNAKES!! The dog walkers in front of me picked it up and put it through the fence to get it off the trail... I was running in the other direction begging the dogs to follow me.

I do realize that the snake won’t hurt the dogs and that the dogs would be more confused than anything at the sight of the snake but there was no way I wanted to see Casey running down the trail with a squiggly little bugger in her mouth YUUUCK!!!!!!

Well after that was done we continued making the rounds.

Seamus bounded around playing with some of the bigger dogs and keeping our little group of ruffians together. He loves to run run run and growl and bark along the way it is very entertaining.

Riley poked and prodded Tea cup & Tony trying to get them to run, they did do some chasing and running but without Jaida Riley it wasn’t the same ;-( poor guy. Ah he had a good time though can’t feel that bad for him!

Tea cup was off leash the whole time, when we first started coming here I had to keep her on leash or she would be over the fence and back at the car. Now she has a great time running with the group and actually visiting with the other dogs.

Tony stayed on leash for a majority of the session. The park is fenced and it’s a good fence but I wasn’t 100% comfortable letting him go until I was sure he was ready. Before we left I dropped the leash for the last couple rounds and he did great, no issues.

When we were making the rounds at the last bend there is a long straight-a-way before heading back to the beginning and starting again. Henry was sitting on a bolder half way back waiting for us to come around. Each time we got to the end I’d yell “Where’s Henry” and the kids would tear off down the path then jump on him and give him kisses as they ran by.

It was a fun afternoon, and we had the best weather of the day. I took some nature pictures because it was a perfect fall day:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/FallColoursAtTheBrickworks?feat=directlink

Next Henry took Belle to Sunnybrook to run the trails. At this point the temperature was starting to go down and the rain was starting to fall. What a change from a couple hours before. Belle was her usual active self and as always had a great time running around jumping logs and dodging trees.

At the end of the day we split up, Henry walked Diva around the neighbourhood and I took Bogart, Jaida and Tony for a nice long walk. At this point it was FREEZING, spitting and windy! Who turned the heat off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My group had a great walk, everyone walked so well together. We worked our way up Yonge Street to Sporting Life, back down Yonge to Eglinton, across Eglinton to Redpath then started to do the drop offs.

It really wasn’t that bad when we were walking plus it stopped raining so I could leave the umbrella at Jaida’s house and pick it up on the way back, one less thing to carry.

It was a busy day but a good day. Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Friday 23rd

Today we only have 2 walks.

We had a small group walk today which consisted of Riley, Tony, Casey and Pepper. Since we were in Pepper’s neighbourhood we decided to go to the Taylor Massey Creek park to run around.

It was COLD and WET today definitely not the best day we’ve ever had.

Regardless of the weather the kids had a great time and the falling leaves looked so nice.

Pepper and Riley were off leash while Casey and Tony were latched on to me. I wasn’t prepared for Tony’s nose to take him off exploring and Casey always wanders off when we are down there so I didn’t want her to get too tired and messy.

Pepper was great; she never gets too far ahead and always makes sure the kids stay together.

Riley stayed with Pepper and bounded along through the grass like a deer and rolling in the leaves.

Tony and Casey didn’t have too much wiggle room but still played in the leaves and rolled in the dirt.

I grabbed some pictures, too bad it doesn’t do justice to the vibrant colours:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/MoreFallColoursAtTaylorMasseyCreekPark?feat=directlink

Everyone was good and dirty when it was time to go home. We had a great walk today but I believe the kids found something dead in the grass along the way and proceeded to roll in it. The car had the distinct smell of dead squirrel on the way home, mixed with wet dog... let’s just say I had to keep the windows down.

The only other walk today is with the lovely Diva then we’re done for the week.

Stay warm and dry everyone, talk to you tomorrow.

Weekend 24th, 25th

Saturday we wanted to stay ahead of the weather because it was always threatening to rain. We decided to leave the kids at home and take Casey, Tony, Bobby and Belle to Sunnybrook to play.

Belle, Casey, Tony and I headed down the trails but it was really muddy today because it had been raining on Friday. We didn’t go too far in before heading back to gather up Bobby and Henry. We had a good outing even though it wasn’t a terribly long one.

We didn’t do much the rest of the day it was really cool and windy so once we took the kids up to the local dog park for a quick hang out it was time to head home and cuddle for the rest of the night.

Sunday on the other hand was beautiful! We only had one walk with Diva today so in the afternoon we packed up the kids and headed to Winston Churchill to play and enjoy the sunshine.

The park was rather quiet and the kids weren’t too overly active so we hung out and visited with some of the other parents for a while then headed home to pick up Diva.

We decided to pack up the stroller and bring everyone along on the walk with Diva. Missy, Biggie and sometimes Sushi rode in the stroller while the rest of them strolled along. Diva was very interested in the stroller and kept sniffing Missy wondering why she got to go for a ride!

It was a perfect evening. The sun was out, it was reasonably warm and there were tones of people out and about enjoying the evening.

The park was busy so we ended up standing around talking to everyone while the dogs played. Diva was very interested in Molly and another puppy wrestling on the grass, she was being the referee to make sure they played by the rules.

Casey chased squirrels so she got put on leash arrest!!!!

Missy, Sushi and Biggie strolled around the park sniffing and playing along the way.

Tony went for a stroll to try and keep warm; we can’t let him off leash because he’ll follow Casey’s lead and chase the squirrels.

After a great afternoon of playing and visiting it was time to head home and bunker down for the night.

What a great weekend, it’s going to be another busy week! We’ll talk to everyone tomorrow.

Monday 12th

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today was a quiet but BUSY day.

Casey was going with Henry to a Thanksgiving dinner while the kids were coming with me to my family Thanksgiving.

Other then morning and afternoon visits with KitCat and Casper that was it for the day.

The kids loved the dogs at my family function. They spent a lot of time petting them and trying to touch Mr Big.

Sushi gave lots of kisses while Missy did lots of staring hoping some food would fall off the table. Biggie did lots of growling and hissing so everyone steered clear of him.

Before heading home we stopped in at my Sister-in-law’s new apartment and the kids had fun running around and jumping on Connor’s bed.

Casey had a good time at their function. Everyone loved her and she got completely spoiled.

It was a good day but a really long day. It was a good weekend but a really long weekend. Now we have to get geared up for the rest of the week.

Bring on Tuesday!

Tuesday 13th

Today we had 2 walks and the weather was in our favour!

We had a huge first walk which included Riley, Jaida, Tea Cup, Gizmo, Pepper, Biggie, Sushi and Casey. Missy stayed home to sleep as she's an old gal and she had a really busy weekend.

Half way through picking up the dogs we decided to switch our destination and head down to Cherry Beach instead of the Brick works. It was just too nice of a day to pass up playing on the beach.

When we got to the park the kids were so excited to get out and start running.

There were lots of other dogs in the park doing the same thing as us, the water was perfect the sand was great the wind wasn’t too bad coming through the trees, we had a blast!

Gizmo, Riley, Jaida and Tea Cup were an instant pack chasing each other around the park, through the bushes and onto the beach. They were so funny together and go along great.

Casey wandered off by herself as she does, she had to go on leash arrest because she kept taking off and getting into trouble!

We didn’t have a ball with us today so Pepper could not play fetch but she ran around and kept everyone together and moving forward. She is a great guard dog.

Sushi and Biggle waddled along behind us and did really well keeping up. They both got piggy back rides throughout the session so they didn’t get too tired.

I took some pictures of the kids playing:

We had a fantastic afternoon now everyone is crashed out sleeping ;-)

Wednesday 14th

Today was a fantastic day both weather wise and play session wise.

For our group walk we had a big group, Riley, Tea Cup, Jaida, Prince, Gizmo, Seamus and Casey. It was a beautiful day so we headed to Sunnybrook to mix and mingle as well as play back on the trails.

It wasn’t terribly busy in the park today which was nice, sometime it is overcrowded and it can be a bit much. Once we got into the park and situated we worked our way through to the trails.

The leaves were changing and the water was bubbling while the dogs tore up and down the path jumping into the creek and running up the banks. We went further back on the trails then we have in the past and everyone enjoyed discovering new territory.

Seamus was doing his running / growling thing as he bolted down the path, through the creek, and screaming back through again.

Riley and Jaida were tearing around chasing each other through the trees and bushes. Those two are inseparable when we are out together. They push each other’s buttons and keep each other going.

Gizmo joined in from time to time but was just as happy to bounce around and play with everyone, he’s a social butterfly.

Prince was huffing and puffing as we made our way around (he’s a pug... he huffs and puffs, it’s his nature). Gizmo and him got along so well they did spend a fair amount of time together bumping and playing with each other.

Tea cup was enjoying actually getting dirty!! She was begging to be chased, she would run up to someone and start barking at them and then tear off looking back to see if they took the bait. When they didn’t she would stop, look annoyed then approach another dog and try again.

When we made our way back to the park we walked the perimeter visiting and playing along the way. It was a shame to leave, we were having so much fun and it was a perfect fall day.

Once we dropped everyone off I went and picked up Belle for our outing.

I decided that we had so much fun earlier that we would head back to Sunnybrook. Belle and I headed to the trails and away we went. This time we went even further into the bush.

Belle was so funny, jumping over downed trees, dipping under fallen branches, clearing giant mud puddles and every step of the way looking back to check on me to make sure I was ok and keeping up.

The trail keeps going from where we stopped so next time we’ll venture in even more. Eventually we should hit Sherwood if we keep going.

The last walk of the day was with Diva, Prince and Casey tagged along as we strolled around the block and through the park. It was a nice walk. Once we dropped of Diva we took Prince home then we picked up the kids for a quick stroll then settled in for the evening.

Today was a fantastic fall day let’s hope that we get a few more of these before the snow rolls in.

Thursday 15th

Today we had 2 walks and i’ve got a bedtime pee break with Diva.

Today was a winter coat kind of a day! The walk included Riley, Jaida, Seamus, Gizmo, Sushi, Mr Big and Casey.

Everyone got bundled up and we headed out into the park for our stroll. It was a nice day despite the cool temperature. Gizmo was sporting a lovely Halloween bandana and looked very charming ;-)

Biggie and Sushi walked for a bit then hitched a ride because it’s a lot of work for those little legs to keep up. After a nice stroll we hit the off leash park.

Biggie and Sushi did one round of the off leash park then they hung out with Henry and watched as the dogs ran by.

Riley and Jaida.... well they ran and ran and ran and chased and chased and chased. Same story as other outings ;-)

Seamus had a great time running around visiting with the other dogs in the park and keeping ahead of the group leading the way.

Gizmo made friends with a dog and we didn’t see him for the first part of the walk, they were chasing each other around and he finally caught up with us to run around with the group.

I snapped some pics of the fun while we were out and about:

In the afternoon I took Bobby out for an afternoon walk. We worked our way around the block and stopped at the park and played fetch until he was good and tired.

The last outing of the evening is to take Diva out for her bedtime pee break then off to bed.

Have a great night everyone, talk to you tomorrow.

Friday 16th

Today I was under the weather so Henry took care of the group walk.

We had a small group today including Riley, Pepper and Belle. They headed to the Taylor Creek Park ravine at St. Clair and O’Connor. It was a nice day they had a good time.

In the afternoon when I was up and about I took a stroll with Casey and Diva while Henry went to visit the kitty cats.

I was glad to have the break, it’s going to be a nice weekend and I want to be able to get out and enjoy it.

Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Weekend 17th, 18th

Today was a beautiful fall day! There were tones of people out enjoying the weather before the rain comes back in again.

In the afternoon we packed up the kids and Belle and headed to Sunnybrook to play on the trails.

Belle spent most of her time running back and forth between Henry and me while herding the kids in between.

Missy poked along sniffing everything as she went. She had a great time and was pooped when we were finished.

Sushi kept up with Casey and Belle and had fun jumping around in the fallen leaves.

Mr Big toddled along telling off bikers and walkers as they passed by as only biggie can do. He had a great time and was also ready for bed when we were finished.

When we wrapped up Henry went to meet Diva and we all met at the park at the end of the day for a visit with the local doggies. What a great day

Sunday was also spectacular. We had a walk scheduled with Bobby so again we packed up the kids and headed to Sherwood.

Again Sherwood was packed; there were so many people out enjoying the sunshine!

Bobby and Henry played fetch on the hill for the majority of the session.

Missy took her time walking down the hill and eventually caught up with Sushi, Biggie and me down the field with a bunch of dogs where they were running around and playing in the sun.

As usual Mr Big was the hit of the park with his glowing personality; I tell ya everyone loves that kid.

After hanging out for a while Henry and Bobby came and joined us and visited with the other doggies on the hill.

Bobby let us know when it was time to go home when he got into a scuffle with a nice little puppy named Molly. Grouchy Bobby!

At the end of the day we took the kids down to visit the kitty cats since the cats have been living in a quiet calm house since we’ve had the doggies. They were happy to see them and I believe they were happy to see them leave.

At the end of the day we got a last minute call to take Belle out for an end of the day stroll.

I picked her up and we made it to Sunnybrook with enough time before the sun set to head back on the trails and have an adventure. It was a perfect night and as usual we had a great time!

What a great week. Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Monday 5th

Today we had 2 walks and a cat sitting session.

We had a small group today there was Jaida, Riley and Casey. The weather was perfect so we headed to Cherry Beach for some fun.

We worked our way around the paths and ended up splashing around in the lake for a bit. There were tones of dog walkers in the park today so there were lots of kids for them to play with.

We don’t go down there enough, it’s a great park and there are fantastic views of the city.

Jaida did her usual mix and mingle with the other dogs and dog walkers. She spent a majority of the time trying to keep her tail out of Riley’s mouth.

Riley was his usual self running around picking on the girls and having a blast! He was sniffing everything, jumping in the water and running around like a crazy person.

After an extra long outing we packed up and headed back home. We got some great pictures today for you to enjoy:

http://picasaweb.google.com/contactme.animaladventures/PerfectFallDayAtCherryBeach02?feat=directlink

In the afternoon Jaida, Casey and I went to pick up Diva for her afternoon walk. We took our caravan over to pick up our final pack member Bogart. Once we were all there we walked around the area, up through the school back down through the park and around again.

Everyone was squirrel crazy today!!!!! Bogart was being a stubborn little bum and didn’t want to hang out with the girls.

After we had given Diva enough to laugh about we started to drop off route.

First Casey got picked up to head downtown with Henry to take Riley home. Next we dropped off Diva then Jaida. Finally Bogart and I went for a bit more of a stroll now that it was just the two of us ending up at his place to drop him off.

During the last session of the day I was cat sitting with two lovely kitties Callie and Shock. Both cats were out and about when I got there and were more than happy to cuddle with me while their mommy was away.

Tuesday 6th

We only had 1 walk today and two cat sitting sessions.

I started out the day with the two cute and cuddly kitties Cali and Shock, they were happy to see me and we did some good bonding.

For our group walk we had Riley, Seamus, Pepper, Jaida and Casey. We headed to Sunnybrook to explore and exercise.

The park was hopping! There were SOOO many dogs and walkers it was crazy! We headed back to the paths and the creek at the beginning of the session so the dogs would be dry by the time we went to leave.

It is so nice by the creek. The trees are changing colour and the leaves are falling, it’s very peaceful and colourful. That is until the dogs start rolling.

Pepper was playing fetch running up and down the creek after the ball. She lost the ball a couple times and it took a bit to get her looking in the right direction. She is persistent! She does not give up until she gets that ball!

Seamus was running down the creek, back up the path, over to the other side of the creek and around again. Of course he was doing his crazy growl as he was running and was going so fast you had to get out of his way or you’d get knocked over.

Riley just had a hair cut so we wanted to try and keep him clean... easier said than done. He didn’t get fully wet which was great but he did do his fair share of running and jumping and splashing. He is such a goofball.

Jaida poked around on the side of the creek jumping out of the way as Seamus came roaring through and trying to keep her tail out of Riley’s mouth. She splashed around a bit and got her feet wet.

When we were good and tired we headed back to the park. We visited with the other dog walkers and dogs in the park and chased and fetched and ran until we were ready to go.

When we had everyone rounded up and on leashes we were looking for Jaida... she was at the other end of the park hanging out with another group of dog walkers and dogs. What a girl she is so independent and social it is adorable.

The last thing we had to do is take Riley home in the afternoon and check in with Callie and Shock one last time for the day.

It was a super fun and relaxing day, a nice change after last week’s craziness. Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Wednesday 7th

Today was another semi slow day for us. We had 3 walks and the cat sitting.

It was another lovely morning with Callie and Shock, they were happy to see me and did some cuddling before I headed out.

For our group walk today we only had Seamus and Riley. Since it’s the first Wednesday of the month Casey had her Pet Therapy visit so she was not going to be going on the walk.

We decided to take Seamus to Sunnybrook by himself to run around and play then Riley would come with us to Burlington and go to a park there.

Seamus had a fantastic time running around, visiting with the other dogs keeping busy. We were lucky there was no rain just the wind to deal with, glad that Seamus is a big doggie so there was no chance that he would blow away.

When Henry got back we packed up and headed to Burlington.

Riley got to meet Casey’s teammates before we began our visit and then Henry and him headed for a local off leash park. Henry said it was a nice big park and apparently was newly open. Riley had a couple golden retrievers to run around with so he was good and pooped by the time they came back to pick us up.

Casey had a great time with her visits; she got lots of belly rubs and rolled around on more than one bed. She was so tired when we finished up but made lots of seniors very happy with her lovable personality and silly howl.

When we got back to Toronto we dropped off Riley and headed home to take out Diva and Bogart.

I walked Diva and Casey around the neighbourhood while Henry took Bogart to Sherwood.

Diva had a touch of puppy in her today. We ran into Gizmo and Prince in the park and were catching up when Diva started to play with Gizmo’s ball. We threw the ball and Diva bolted across the lawn to grab it... by bolt I mean walked quickly with youthful exuberance.

She then caught the ball and played keep away from Gizmo for a bit. After a couple minutes of her bouncing around, I stopped her so she didn’t overdo it and hurt herself. She had a great time and was so happy to be out and about.

After a short stroll back home we said our goodbyes and I headed out to wait for Henry and Bogart.

Bogart had a blast at Sherwood. He met a couple dogs in the trails back in the woods and ran and chased each other for a good portion of their outing. He did do some off roading through the fences but came back to Henry without too much trouble.

Once they were back we dropped Bogart off and headed out to see Callie and Shock for their last visit of the day. Callie cuddled up with Henry and Radar tickled my feet.

Our last walk of the day was a quick pee break with Bobby. We took a nice stroll around the block visiting with local dogs along the way. He’s such cute little guy, always makes me happy when I see him.

It was a windy and LONG day but a great day, can’t wait to do it all again tomorrow. Talk to everyone later.

Thursday 8th

Today started off like all others this week with a visit to Callie and Shock. They were happy to see me and we did some hard core cuddling.

We had 3 walks today.

The group walk was a big walk consisting of Tea Cup, Jaida, Riley, Seamus, Missy, Biggie, Sushi and Casey.

Since it was a large group and it was a bright sunny day we headed to Winston Churchill park where there is a good fence and lots of room to stretch our legs. Also there are always lots of dogs to goof around and play with so it’s the best location.

When we got there Jaida and Riley were off chasing each other around in big circles.

Seamus was mixing and mingling with some of the bigger dogs in the park (our crew is too tiny for his liking). He played some rounds of fetch and ran around like a mad man from one end of the park to the other growling along the way.

Jaida was the welcoming committee for all new dog packs that entered the park. She would run over and say hello and then proceed to walk around the park with them until the next group arrived. She took time out from her duties to play some rounds of fetch when there was an available ball.

Riley took turns running around with Tea Cup, Casey and Jaida plus mixing with some of the other dogs in the park. He also took a dip in a nasty dirty mud puddle; he jumped around like a bucking bronco and was having a great time. I was not as excited ;-)

Tea Cup was great today, she did spend a lot of her time with Henry walking around the park but she actually played tag with Riley a bunch of times and mixed and mingled on her own with the other dogs. She is becoming so brave the more she visits the off leash parks.

Missy was a busy girl, she circled the park a number of times and would come over and check in on the group to see what we were up to. Usually she just watches tennis while we play but not today she was a social butterfly.

Biggie waddled along behind me for most of the outing but as usual he was the hit of the park. A bunch of the other dog walkers were loving him up and giving him kisses. With his little legs he gets lots of exercise when he works his way around the park. He was a busy boy today.

Sushi was wearing her Sunday best today! She was sporting a cute little sundress... again she was being loved up by the other dog walkers! She was a busy little girl, running around visiting the other dogs and taking care of Biggie. She is a great big sister ;-)

Casey... well she was her usually self... picking on Sushi, running from Riley and basically hanging out with me.

Henry was having words with a large bull dog that would not share his ball... it was very funny ;-)

Next I met up with the lovely Diva for her afternoon stroll while Henry took Riley home. It was a really nice afternoon. We went for a long walk to soak up the nice weather before it turns ugly this weekend. Diva has had a spring in her step this whole week, yesterday was a ball, today she chased a squirrel!!!

When I was done with Diva I made my way over to check in on Callie and Shock. It was lovely to hang out with them at the end of a very busy day. They were both happy to see me and took turns getting back scratches.
Our last walk of the day was a quick pee break with Bobby then it was time to go home for a rest!

It’s been a long day but a great day, I’ll talk to everyone tomorrow.

Friday 9th

Ugh Rain... again!

Thank goodness we only have 1 walk today!

We started out the day visiting Cali and Shock. It was nice to have some cuddle time before heading out into the rain.

On our walk we had Tea Cup, Pepper, Riley and Casey. We decided that since the weather was terrible we would pick up Riley and go to Riverdale Park to toss a ball and run around.

It rained the entire time we were out ;-(

Pepper spent the entire outing running and playing fetch. I really don’t think she noticed the rain at all; she only has eyes for that lovely green tennis ball. She didn’t stop once the entire time we were out.

Riley was not so happy to be out in the rain. When you first come in there is a really big hill. He spent the first 10 minutes sitting halfway up the hill looking sad and small... a little grey dot in a sea of green. I went over and rescued him then got him running.

Tea Cup was surprisingly busy! She ran around and followed Henry. Once Riley got out of his funk the two of then started chasing each other around the park splashing through puddles. I didn’t think Tea Cup had it in her.

Casey joined in Riley and Tea Cup’s game of tag from time to time but mainly was off exploring by herself.

There weren’t very many dogs in the park today but we mixed and mingled with who we could.

Once we were good and wet we packed up and headed home.

The only other outing for the day was the afternoon visit with Cali and Shock and a new cat sitting session with a new furry friend Charlie. Henry is taking on Charlie while I wrap up with Cali and Shock.

Henry had a good time playing with his new friend, they got along really well and did lots of bonding.

Cali and Shock were happy to see me as usual; they did their best to warm me up on this dark and dismal day.

The week is done and this weekend is going to be a busy one. Stay tuned to read about our adventures.

Talk to everyone tomorrow.

Weekend 10th,
11th

It was Thanksgiving weekend and it was a busy one!

Since it was a long weekend we had a lot of cat sitting appointments plus we were having a doggie slumber party!

The day started out with my last visit with the lovely Calie and Shock. They were happy to see me but were even more excited to see their mommy come home that afternoon!

When I wrapped up with Calie and Shock I dropped off Henry at Charlie’s and headed down to pick up the kids and feed the cats. The kids are going to be staying with me while their mom is on vacation for a couple weeks.

Henry and Charlie had a great time together. They did lots of petting and bonding, he’s a very charming kitty.

The kids were happy to see me, once I got everyone fed and packed up the kids and I headed out to pick up Henry and head home.

In the afternoon I picked up Belle for our exercise session then she was staying overnight for a sleepover. It was a fantastic day so we stayed local and went for a nice long walk in the area. We headed to Blythwood ravine and strolled up to Alexander Muir Park just south of Lawrence.

There were lots of people out taking pictures and enjoying the sunshine. In the gardens, families were having family pictures taken because it was a perfect day.

It was a fantastic walk and Belle was good and tired by the time we got home. The kids were so excited to see her and we all snuggled together for an afternoon nap before heading out for a dinnertime walk.

Finally Henry went to visit Charlie while I went to visit KitCat and Casper to give them their dinner.

The last walk of the day was a pee walk with Diva before bedtime.

The kids had a great slumber party with Belle. She kept steeling Casey’s duck and tossing it around the bed getting Casey all upset. It was super super cute.

The lovely part is that at 4:30 in the AM Belle had to go to the bathroom!!! Away we went then back to bed. Oye sleepy!

On Sunday we started out the day with Henry visiting Charlie and me visiting KitCat and Casper.

In the afternoon we were taking Bobby out for a session along with Belle. We went to Sunnybrook and it was a perfect afternoon.

Since Belle has been a little aggressive lately Belle, Casey and I went for a nice long walk back through the trails while Henry and Bobby played fetch in the park.

It was so nice back on the paths; Belle and Casey ran around like crazy people and chased each other through the mud. Once we were nice and dirty we started to head back to the park. When we got to the park we hung out for the last little bit while Bobby continued to play fetch then we packed up and headed home.

Next I had a nice afternoon walk with Diva while Sushi, Casey and Biggie tagged along. It was starting to get cold at this point but we stuck it out and had a great walk. We met up with some of the local dogs who strolled around the block with us.

Once we were wrapped up we went on our next outing with the adorable black lab Radar.

We decided to divide and conquer. I dropped Henry and Radar off at Winston Churchill Park while I went to do my cat visit with KitCat and Casper. It was getting dark and that park has lights so it’s very handy.

Henry and Radar played lots of fetch and Radar had fun visiting with some of the local dogs that came through.

When they were done we took Radar home then we were FINALLY done for the day!

It was a crazy long weekend and we were lucky with fantastic weather. It’s a nice change from rain that we suffered through all week.

I hope you had a safe and happy Thanksgiving and we’ll talk next week.
